Where's the best place I can meet people that still like Trance but are local to me?
I want to make some more IRL friends that live not far from me & also don't see trance as a situation-dependent, boring, or strange genre of music. Where might the best places I can go to meet some of them be? I know that this board has branched out into more of a general EDM board and I can probably bet that even here, the people that truly love trance more than any other type of music to the point where they can't imagine living without it are becoming (or already are) a bit of a rarity. I'd love to be proven wrong on this.
Thanks for any tips on this.

Um.. go to Trance events in your city?
And I'm sure you can find plenty of Trance lovers on your local TA forum.

Everything about this thread perplexes me.

Hating on Trance has become the cool thing to do around here, but many still secretly love it. They're a bunch of closet PLUR fags.

Can you type "PLUR" in lowercase? I can't.

Secretly love it? What is so undesirable about it? Is there anything truly wrong with liking trance? If it's a fad, than I completely missed out on it and still am in whatever mindset the people of this board were in a decade ago with regard to the music. In other words, I like it as much today as I did a decade ago. Is listening to it and genuinely enjoying it today already considered to be living in the past (I guess 1998--2003 in this case)? I never get tired of it. I want a serious answer to this as I someday (read: when I get enough equipment, music, and mixing experience to legally play somewhere) intend on being a DJ but there's no point in wasting time playing something if it won't lead to something bigger where there is going to be an audience that enjoys it. It may be fine for me to play whatever I like in private but it's likely different if you intend to play for an audience & make money from it too.
PS: Fixed both my sig & location.

Does it matter?
I don't understand this hating on Trance 'fad', either.. and frankly I don't give a shit. It doesn't affect me or my love for Trance in any way. So who cares?

Have you seen the top DJs in the world today? Or DJMAG Top 100?
Plenty of successful DJs play Trance, obviously they have a following.
It seems I'm only stating the obvious here, it's common sense, think a little.

Youbad .
Ali 69 , in my neck of the woods Trance has also become passe`. More's the pity ,I'm struggling to embrace dub-step, 'durty techno' , gabba and their ilk ..plink- plonk, whee- whee ,scratch- growl etc . How you supposed to dance to that, huh ? *Rassinfrassin' mutter mutter.*
( sorry , should be Ali 92 ..69 is better though)
