I have a Mopho module. Absolutely love it. Would love to have the keys version for all those knobs. It's a little pain to program with just the module. An editor does exist for it (soundtower), but from what I understand there is a VST editor kinda similar (but not as in-depth or good) coming for the DSI products. As for now tho you can at least save patches on your computer and recall them with soundtower instead of having to dig for them in the synth.

I owned a Mopho (desktop) for a while and currently own a P08. I also own Trilian and SubBoomBass. The Mopho is great for analogue basses and cool sequenced parts. I haven't used the Mopho Keys, but it definitely looks like a step up from the desktop version in terms of hands-on control, but it's still not as knobby as it could be (i.e., dedicated knob per parameter), which makes me wonder how much menu-diving or relying on the software editor a user would actually end up doing.
As mentioned, Trilian is nothing like SubBoomBass and is much more versatile. Since getting Trilian (and DCAM Strobe, which I also love for basses), I have not even touched SubBoomBass.
Oh, and a +1 on Stephen's recommendation for the SE-1X (or an ATC, for that matter).

I'm awaiting price on the SE1X from him.
I have a single EMU midi interface for my Roland Fantom, so presumably I'll need some sort of double connected midi interface to hook into a keyless unit like this. |
they are 1700 new but can be had for around 1000 on ebay used.

the new oxygen keyboards are the tits and they're very affordable. i'd trade my novation compact 49 right now for a 49 key version of it.
