DJ Jon Cockle - Versatile (01-09-2012) [Trance/Psy]

This is a reconstruction of my set from Versatile, Manchester on 01/09/2012. I was pleased to see a trance night so busy without booking any headliners, and even more pleased that the underground trance was getting just as good a reaction as the uplifting stuff!

Let me know what you think,

http://soundcloud.com/dj-jon-cockle...versatile-01-09

Tracklist:
1. Oliver Prime - Sight Beyond
2. 00.db - Ark
3. Static Movement vs. Toy Machine - Dune
4. Ovnimoon - The Holographic Sphere
5. Steve Birch - See Through
6. Burn in Noise - Vuuv Festival Celebration
7. 00.db - Inka
8. Wizzy Noise - Sea Song
9. Vivian Vixen - Sandcastles (Mad Maxx remix)

I reuploaded this set because the first transition on the original version was crusty at the gash
Any takers?

I used this set for a DJ competition. If anyone listened and enjoyed, I'd be very grateful if you could 'like' it on here

I know this is a really crappy way to get gigs, but that's the world we like in

Whyyyy have I not listened to this yet?

Tracklist looks okay, man, but I gotta say, Sea Song is way overplayed. Did you play it so people could have something they recognized?

I'm not sure really. I think I looking for something that was fairly epic without being over blown, and Sea Song jumped out at me.

I dunno if I would say it's overplayed - certainly not at this night where most people wouldn't really know much about psy trance. I take your point though - if this had been a pre planned demo rather than a live set, it would probably be good to have dug out something a little less 'John 00 Fleming signature', especially after playing a couple of 00.db tracks

Yeah, I mean, I'm not in a location where I hear anything from Wizzy Noise or J00F played out, I was only saying that based on the sheer number of times I've heard it in a recorded set. But I bet it worked just fine for what you needed. I'm probably going to listen to this on Friday when I drive home from Atlanta. Expect a review from me then
