Thanks Insomniac for the last event at the OAK grounds..
So this morning I woke up to news reports saying that noise complaints flooded the police departments of surrounding cities near the Oakland Coliseum grounds...
From the comments on the URL below, it seems like it's going to get more difficult for Skills or any other local promoters to be able to utilize the grounds again.. Thank you Insomniac!!

lol
Some of the comments are hilarious, coming from the eTards and the uptight citizens in that area.
Doesn't look good, bye bye Insomniac.

Not really insomniacs fault as they have had other events there before. From the pics it looks like insomniac had a pretty big turn out(much bigger than LoveFest last year) so I am sure they will be back next year at a different venue(which is good, that spot sucks)

Ended up making a game time decision last night and made the trek from SF -- probably wouldn't have had I paid for a ticket. As most would expect music was sub par (snooty) although the drumnbass area was great. Bounced right as Orbital was starting up because it was so damn depressing seeing only 200 kids at their stage.
This was my first time at the Coliseum so I couldn't compare it to other events at this venue. Regardless I am slightly shocked by the noise complaints. The music was not that very audible in the parking area.
Edit: Attendance was pretty good. Negative backstage booze was done at 10. Official booze was done at 12am. Lame

According to this article, sounds like they are going to meet some resistance (or they are going to have to come up with more payola) on an outdoor event in the future, there's an Oakland City Councilman on the Coliseum governing board:
Oakland City Councilman Ignacio De La Fuente, who sits on the Coliseum's governing board, said the events should have been held indoors.
"Next time we get them inside the arena, not outside," he said. "We don't run the facilities; we are not the experts on this. They are."
"We have to make sure that those types of events won't happen again on the outside," he added. "We have to make sure it doesn't happen again."

Yeah I think this is on the coliseum more than Insomniac. They're the actual owners of the venue and have the actual licenses to host events, so they're the ones who should be aware of potential issues with noise in the area.
Of course, they probably knew there would be issues, but this was easily worth enough money for it to be better to ask for forgiveness than permission.
