Hey There!
Honestly, go to LA or Vegas instead. While Miami is fun at all times of the year, there won't be much going on here anymore after those two weeks of madness. The post MMW/Ultra/WMC days are pretty depressing actually. lol... Def do the west coast somewhere. Maybe NY???

Hi everyone, I'm from Toronto and am hoping to go to Miami on March 24-27 for my bachelorette party. I realize WMC and Ultra would have just ended and I'm worried that there will be no events or good djs booked on those dates due to the timing. Nothing has been posted on resident advisor and I need to book flights asap. Just looking for some information on what the scene is like during the weekend post WMC and Ultra. If the nightlife is going to be very quiet, I'm contemplating going to LA instead. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you! |
We're all working on our MMW planning at the moment. Don't expect the week after events for a couple more weeks. I wouldn't listen to a lot of the guys above, there's always something happening in town but more than likely it's going to be a slow weekend, numbers wise so the parties might not be the best. There should definitely be some good talent though.

This is a very easy one. You'll want to go to Vegas. There is just a lot more in Vegas and it's 24/7. There's so much more to do than just hearing some house music in a club in Vegas...which you can easily do. |
Agree to disagree. Miami has much more culture and the area is much more beautiful. Take a charter boat out and go deep sea fishing, go back to your AirBnB condo, cook dinner, and then go out partying at any of the "better" clubs like Treehouse, Story, Pickle, Don't Sit, etc. Along the way, there's so many cool little bars dotting the beach. Same for downtown Miami. Lots of stuff to check out in Wynwood during the day. Great restaurants are everywhere and some of the better "locals" places are actually quite inexpensive. Authentic Cuban lunch for $10 or so. Not to mention you could check out a Heat game if you're into basketball.
Miami to me is much more "natural" and Vegas has a fake, artificial, manufactured aura. Simply designed for one thing and one thing only: to make as much money as possible from middle and upper class Americans from places like Iowa who are convinced that Las Vegas is the party capital of the country. Not saying that Miami is full of non-fake people, because there are definitely loads. But the town itself as well as the culture is much more complex, varied, and more fulfilling. Just my two cents...
But anyways, there will definitely be good events that weekend. Keep on the lookout for the clubs Don't Sit, Story, Space, Treehouse, Trade. There might even be a pop-up party or two that weekend since that's actually the weekend of WMC. There won't be dozens and dozens of parties like there will be for Miami Music Week but I'm sure they'll have at least a couple of respectable day events.

I know you didn't ask for it, but here's my view on the choices laid before you–I hope this helps:
Look, as a local, I can tell you definitively two things: (1) As was said elsewhere, Miami does not die after WMC is over. (2) There will be as many big name DJs playing somewhere in town as there will be in Vegas (which reliably means 5-6 every weekend due to the way they do residencies).
On LV:
Here's the BIG difference: Vegas relies almost exclusively on residency DJs, meaning the choices you will have will be limited to the following (rather than a rotating stable): Zedd, Tiësto, W&W, Gareth Emery, and probably some dickhead like Aoki, etc. I don't know your tastes, but if you're into the glitzy mainstream stuff, Vegas won't be a bad option. The same rule applies there that does here: bring your money–all of it.
Another MAJOR difference is this: If you're not prepared to get a table/bottle(s), then seeing a DJ is going to be a pretty shitty experience. Places like Hakkasan, XS, etc. are really, really shitty (surprisingly small and overcrowded) if you don't have a table. I'm not exaggerating here. However, newer places like SLS on the north end of LV blvd. have more spacious clubs, like Life.
On Miami (and why I think it's the better option):
1) We have a beach. Don't underestimate the value of our beach, particularly when compared with a pissed-in pool in Vegas.
2) We'll have at least 5-6 big name DJs from across the dance spectrum, and the vibe can/will be different dependent on the club you choose. This is manifestly impossible to do in Vegas–every club has the exact same people unless you head way off the strip. While Vegas will have the Tiéstos, Hardwells, and Afrojacks of the world, only one or two clubs in Miami will carry acts like that at a given time (LIV, Story, and to a lesser extent, Wall). You could just as easily get Dusky or Sasha at Treehouse, Paul van Dyk at Space, or Hot Since 82 at Heart. The options will be much more varied here, and big names come through here EVERY weekend, including those before and after WMC.
3) Last thing: Our food is better, more varied, and good food can be done more affordably (should your financial situation make that a necessity).
Cheers! And congratulations!

^^^This is a perfect assessment in my eyes.

F Vegas or la. I went to a bachelor party last year, we dropped 3k on bottle service and that was a price with us knowing a promonter that got us the best table. They ended up sending bottle rats to get out bottles done faster, I made friends with our security and got all of them out for good. IMHO the nightlife is the worst when it comes to clubs in Vegas. The whole Vegas is a show, fake people, fake shit, terrible music with drops every 20 seconds, and over priced mediocre food.
I really hate that place besides my craps addiction,.
If you want to do Cali I would recommend San Diego.
Like others said, out of mmw is a great time to go. You will have fun and there is tons of great spots like the pickle, treehouse, don't sit ect that even if it's just locals you will be in for word class music
