I have visited all major raves in Europe but Mayday already excists 10 years and has the best d.j.'s. The sound (500000 watt) and lights are unbelievable. On Dutch raves d.j's can play 2 hours, on Mayday only one. So they have to go 100% from the beginning!
Mayday sets the standards every year. Example: Marusha-Somewhere over the rainbow was played here first. Zombie Nation performed here live first. Blank & Jones play their new record here first. Paul van Dyk spinned "we're alive" and "columbia" at last years edition. Those were hits 9 months later.
The crowd is so wild and happy, that is seen only in Switzerland too. Dutch crowd doesn't party like the people on Mayday.
Mayday is cult. Mayday had all the trends: Moby live, Prodigy live long before anyone knew them. Mayday is harder and faster.
I wish we had an event with that tradition here in Holland. DSutch raves suck because of the commercial aspects. Party organization ID&T runs all parties. 7 years ago they started with hardcore. It was all underground. Now they are a bunch of moneyfreaks.
I advise everyone that doesn't agree with me to once visit Mayday. You'll be surprised. Mayday will never be topped.
