I use soundforge for the ONE mix i did record. I was just testing it out n stuff, and i accidently recorded at 8bit so it sounded really bad, but there is an option for 16bit which would probably sound a lot better. I also had a long ass cord from my mixer to my computer which was from Radioshack and it probably didn't keep the best quality of sound.
I suggest some monster cables w/ an adapter from the audio RCA cables to 1/8 jack into the sound card of your computer. Also try to keep the cable as short as possible to keep the sound quality better, the longer the cable, the more distorted the sound gets unless you get an amp. Hope this helps

unless you're equipped for it, i'd recommend XLR cables for everything
XLR cables are great when you have to run a long length of cable

as for the question, i use a program that is similar to pro tools, but made for the PC platform
i er... borrowed... it from the radio station i used to work at

you could use Cool Edit too, record it as a wav or whatever quality mp3 you want (with the mp3 plug-in)

right on... Monster cables are the best, highly recommendable.

Personally, I use cool edit pro 2.0, it just has more features than even soundforge,,, maybe there are a bit hidden. Its easier to use for me, i guess its because i learned to use it first. There is no difference with sound quality between the two, so if anyone sais there is, its bull.

Feurio is top notch and very user friendly. You can record, split track as you want and burn it straight out! www.feurio.com not only can you use it for recording your own mix but also recording live streams etc.

I use SoundForge XP. I like it because you can do simple things like normalized and edit. You can also do plenty of effects and burn cds straight from it too, though I use Nero for burning, myself. Well worth the $40 or $50 I paid for it!
