Wink car upgrades?

Im looking for information or sites on upgrades for civic coupe 03. I dont know much about cars, but i was wondering about doing upgrades for low rpm power and hill power and overall horsepower. Does anyone know if an AEM intake is good? or any other recommendations?

ok, i know a whole shit load about import cars and tuning. Iceman intakes are the best intakes on the market, you can go to www.jcw.com and click on sport compacts, then just look up your car. you might wanna look into a magazine called honda tuning, it should be at a bookstore or something. maybe go to www.cardomain.com and look at the civics, and see what people have done to them. www.onlineshowoff.com is good for that too. just go to a bookstore and look at all the import magazines, you find lots of helpful stuff there!

they should, although they arent that hard to install. but if you dont know anything about cars, dont do it yourself! if you were to get it done by a mechanic, youd have to go somewhere that knows how to do it, lol that was dumb

Pick up Super Street and Import Tuning while you're at it, and visit their websites. AEMs are fine, but just warning you, air intakes wont do much at all to your power. You'll have to do an engline swap (as biznology mentioned) or you can add turbos, superchargers, etc. You're lucky because you've got a civic and theres a sh*tload of stuff for it at decent prices. Oh, and www.aerotrends.com is good for body work too, if you plan on looking into that. Check in at local performance shops and I'm sure they'll help you out. Good luck, and don't waste your whole life savings!!

First off, no offense but if you want *low end* power in your Civic, you'll need some sort of forced induction or a larger engine. Sure, smaller naturally aspirated motors can make power, but not much happens below vtec territory. Just make sure you don't void your warranty by modding it, I would ask the dealership the policy before hand. I wouldn't recommend going to import showoff sites and the like, simply because they are show cars. That vtec board jp posted would probably be the best start.

And if you have a mechanic install something simple like an intake, I GUARANTEE you will be ripped off. It's fuckin hilarious to stand in an import shop and see the kids willingly paying $80 (no joke) to install an intake pipe and a filter.

Hey Trickle, what does your Z28 run and what have you done to it? I have a 1st gen Talon, hits a high 13 at altitude when the clutch isn't fried It's quick enough to hang with SSs and non WS6 T/As up here, but at sea level I would probably get stomped. Boost is a huge advantage a mile high.

if u dont wanna go big and spend huge money on Turbo's and stuff there are quite a few options.

A cam is your best bet for low end power. a 225 degree cam increases torque and overall horsepower, that u will feel as soon as u drive your car.

Varous other things u can do thjat will help are to port and polish the head, increase the gas flow injection, get a chip that will remap the ECU, get an induction kit. You could buy lighter components for the engine, but that will end up costing a lot.

For a quick and easy fix, NoS is the answer!

if your going to nos the engine.... you'd need to buff up the internals first as nos can be damaging.

I have done pretty much all of the bolt on mods. I.E. Headers w/off road pipe, catback exhaust with cutout, SLP Clutch Kit(Third Clutch ),G2 CAI,Alum. Driveshaft,3.73 Gears,LT4 KM,Upgraded Ignition,Custom Programed Comp.,160 Thermo, that's all that I can think of for performance. I also have a few apperance mods. At the track I've run a best of 13.6@107 with a 2.2 60Ft. So, as you can see traction is a problem for me. If I were to get good traction off the line I should be able to see a 13.1-13.2, or maybe even a 12 if it's a very nice day out. You can check out my webpage
Have a good one.
