Hey team, i played a party last night (first real house party) and i ran into alot of problems. I got really nervous and couldnt match up beats Another thing, was that i couldnt hear a faking thing!
The speakers were in front of me, but it suddenly dawned on me, that i might need a monitor? Like a speaker facing me so i could hear... is that normal? Is it normal to have an extra speaker facing you or something?

lol everybody gets nervous if it's their first time. In order to avoid this, you gotta get pumped up.....I mean really really pumped. Go punch someone in the face, throw stuff at the crowds, and yell relly loudly! If you show up there, and you are all shy and stuff, then of course you should be nervous. Dude, did your hands shake a lot? lol

Yes u do need a moinitor that is facing you.

god, it was freaky. But i was pretty much fine, except i couldn't here anything so i was trying to mix in my headphones, which was hard to properly do it. To make it worse, i was playing to a hip hop crowd. Hehe, o well, we all gotta start somewhere.

another thing that'll help you is maybe play and broadcast your mix online a couple of time becaues you know there are other ppl listening live or you could even play to your friends brothers at home or something that also helps..

and about the speakers there is usally monitor speakers for dj if not try to learn how to beatmatch with your headphones also..


oo that weed part helps too, try to just have fun, fuck the crowd

Same thing happened to me

if you dont want to do the BAD stuff such as smoking weed, drinking, punching and yelling. When the DJ before you is playing, go dance with some girls. Make sure you get some tits. That works all the time.
