The End Of Lightning Records
It’s official. One of the most popular record companies that hold sublabels such as Bonzai has decided to put an end to their long reign. Read more about it.

Just a while ago Lightning Records celebrated their 10th anniversary. Going back further in time than most companies Lightning held a strong roster of sublabels and artists that have kept the scene alive for over a decade. According to their website, www.lightningrecords.be, the era now has come to an end.

As Lightning goes down there is still hope that the most popular sublabels will be picked up and kept alive to ensure that the clubbers get their fair share of quality material. Trance.nu have contacted Lightning Records officials and will get back with more information. For the ones that are eager to find out yourself please subscribe to their mailinglist on www.lightningrecords.be

The official statement from Lightning Records reads:
“2003-03-04 – The End Of Lightning Records: THE END OF LIGHTNING… Lightning Records will be closed as of tomorrow, no holidays, unfortunately..”

Trance.nu would like to show their support for Lightning Records and hope that they, even in these rough times, can find a way to get back on their feet in one way or another to secure the future of our scene – something they’ve gallantly done the past 10 years.

Ja, erg jammer dit Ik wist al dat het een aantal maanden erg slecht ging met ze en helaas hebben ze het niet meer om kunnen buigen Ze persten al geruime tijd geen vinyls meer enzo, dus het zat eraan te komen. Echt triest. Een lange historie waar een eind aan komt.

Hopelijk zullen inderdaad de meer succesvolle labels danwel overgenomen worden of zelfstandig starten.

Kan er niet echt mee zitten, Lightning is niet mijn favorite label maar dat is een kwestie van smaak. Veel platen zuigen of lijken zow gigantisch veel op elkaar en dan bedoel ik vooral de afgedankte kaasmeuk van PUSH/MIKE en Laurent Veronez met zijn 10000 pseudo's om het niet te laten opvallen dat zijn nieuwere tracks gewoon rips zijn van vorige releases met een ander riedeltje erdoorheen.

Tis zonde, natuurlijk niet goed voor de bizz dat een zo'n grote label op zn kant gaat. Huuray voor BlackHole & Cyber

Inderdaad, er komt ECHT wel weer nieuwe goede (misschien tot nu toe onbekende) muziek die dit gaat opvullen.

Zo gaat het al jaren in de 'pop-business'... Take That gaat, Backstreet Boys komen. Backstreet Boys gaan, Westlife komt. En ga zo maar door. Hier precies hetzelfde. Het komt echt wel weer goed.
