just like to express my opinion that Gabriel & Dresdens productions & remixes aren't all that good (apart from 1 or 2) and that I think they're overated and the constant hype about them on this board is rather strange...

Considering Josh Gabriel has done some huge stuff like Wave3 & his remix of Dido - Thank You, I think the majority of stuff he has done with Dave Dresden is a bit of a let down, and is in most cases, lacking in decent overall production finese.

For example; the remix of One For The Road, is just simply boring progressive at a trance tempo. The production is quite shallow in my opinion. I don't understand the hype generated by it on this board. Is it suddenly because the trance crew has felt left out by the increase in popularity in progressive music, and along comes G&D who decide to make prog house for trance tempos, then suddenly they're the new trance gods? It is a curious concept, but I guess its much the same as the hype over Filterheadz late last year.

Nevermind, its just my opinion...

whoever said that they were a trance act????...i think what people like about their productions is that they have a different sound and isn't just constant uplifting trance that gets boring after a while. its just about a new sound thats all...which is GOOD..

i can't say i share the opinion. I don't think anyone can argue about the remix of Duncan Shiek's "on a high" or three Drives' "carrera 2". I think they've replaced Ferry Corsten/Tiesto as the strongest remixers out there. They are fresh, original, and they know just how to strike the right chords to feel the bliss of trance. Progressive? what's that?

the remixes of Andain? o mai got! top tunes, G/D, keep up the good work.

and if gabriel and dresden are reading this, all i can say is WOW!

exactly. just like everyone that loves them, i could offer hundreds of reasons i like G&D but...would you still care?

the most basic reason i think they are getting well received attention are basically because they handle vocals, even non trance vocals very well. some people dont like vocals, so therefore they prolly wouldnt like G&D.

but beyond that i think it is their diversity in production and song choice that sealed the deal for me. they pick well crafted songs, such as on their EM, that change the flow of the mix without all being hands in the air trancers or deep psych dubs or something. there is a certain accessiblity there, but not one of a cheesy pop mix.

basically the party would be killer- and i wouldnt feel ashamed of dancing to shitty music...like too many Swedish Nation parties|

...oh and dresden and mavie take place in the TA community - which is quite cool i think!

i dont believe all their stuff is a 10/10, but alot of it is different and not just the same song replaced with the samples of the original and such. they have been able to put tonz of energy into a song and thas great for me...
