I don't know much about business liability, but I reckon it's unlikely the clubs insurance will cover any eqipment you bring. Unless it's damaged as a result of the clubs negligence of course (i.e. the ceiling collapses on the DJ Booth).

Damage by the public is a tough one (if you took your decks to Gatecrasher and somebody spilled their pint over it would you claim off Gatecrasher (since they run the night) or the Republic...hrm.

Strictly speaking, your standard household insurance shouldn't cover it as it is technically being used for business use (even if you don't make any money) but with this kind of situation it would kinda depends on whether the claims assessor is in a good mood.

Best thing to do would be to phone up Mat's household insurers and make sure it's covered outside the home for the whole weekend, and check whether they'd want it classed as business use (with items less than £1000 you wouldn't see that much extra cost anyway, if any for a few days extra cover).

edit: Is the place you're getting the technics and mixer a proper hire firm? If not I doubt you'd need to worry about insuring any eqipment you hire, their own insurance should cover that. If so, I'd go to somebody else.

Damn, I am useful afterall

Ian and I have just about sorted the equipment, just a couple of points to sort out there.

I am visiting the venue tomorrow Morning (saturday 16 may) to go over details with them and to confirm any outstanding issues.

ok i wasnt to keen on the predominantly square based logo before, so i changed a few of them to circles, and messed about a bit, here is the final design with minor alterations tosee which you think is best.

my fave is number 5 followed by number 2, as its the most simple yet effective, also has the classic "four brackets" TA border type design.

what do you guys think...

edit: fuck knows why the first one wont work, but its like 2 but has a white centre circle with a similar sized black square behind it.
