@Echo, why would you stop a "hobby" just because of a little fight or a single thread you dislike People and their principles |
Well, actually, I don't dislike any of the people or their principles. And this thread was interesting. I love reading the threads in this forum.
I think this is where I get stuck:
If you say something once and you say it well, if you're clear and you support your argument, if you make your point(s), and if it's obvious that you are correct what do you do if someone chooses to disagree?
Say it again. Maybe change the wording. Throw in more support. Again your presentation is flawless. Again you make your point(s). Again it's obvious that you are correct. Someone STILL chooses to disagree.
You try again. And again.
In this instance, several people, not just one or two, made the same point. And they too were clear. Someone STILL chose to disagree.
Nellie does not WANT to define Christianity as a religion. She has no intention of regarding her Christianity as a religion. She is a Christian but she is NOT religious. Whatever. If people chose to "listen" to her arguments and assertions, they would have realized 50 zillion posts ago that she chooses to think the way she thinks and 50 dictionaries and 50 geniuses are not going to change her way of thinking. So further debate was pointless.

You're lacking a great deal of logic in this debate here, and it's becoming quite pointless to argue with you lest you start utilizing more logic. And yes, you are making false claims, as anuneventrade and others have clearly pointed out.

And you are showing a prime example of letting things go? |
Maybe I lack confidence in my ability to communicate clearly in English. So I keep trying to say whatever I want to say so it is understandable. My apologies...

Go back to my posts and note that I provided those same definitions to my argument. The reason why the argument continued was simply because I was not satisfied with Nellie's interpretation of my posts. |
I reread your posts. You communicate well, Sara! You reread your posts! How could someone misinterpret what you are saying? You are very clear. Maybe I'm missing something. You didn't fail to make your points! That's my point. If someone refuses to "get it" and you've presented it as well as it can be presented...why keep going? Or if you decide to keep going...and you just keep making the same points over and over and the other person refuses to agree, refuses to interpret things the way they should be interpreted...after a while doesn't it get old?!
So. I'll choose to stop reading PF for now because I obviously lack the maturity and self discipline to keep my fingers off the keyboard in situations such as this.
Cheers

Don't you kinda see you're practicing exactly what you are preachin'? I think your point was made quite clear a few posts ago, and I agree wholeheartedly. I think we all agree Nellie has difficulties accepting facts. Great, let's all move on together.
