Here is a conversation I had with someone at the gym recently. I noticed they were doing a particular exercise incorrectly so I said "this is how I do it and it felt really good when I tried it this way"
they said "Im not trying to get big or defined or anything i just want to feel good"
10 minutes later after the pump has set in
same person, flexing in mirror..
"I wish I was this big all the time"
Yes we all do it to feel better. We do it to feel more confident, self assured, and in charge of our lives. We want to get better, faster, stronger (6 million dollar man). Working out is one of the few things in life where we can SEE the changes happening. We are making a difference!
TTA I know we've had disagreements in the past hehe...ahh yes, the disagreements. But, im a fan of exercise, and I think thats fucking awesome you did what you did. But...of course...I do disagree with you.
You are NOT the same person you were 2 years ago. You have changed from a person who didnt care ENOUGH about their health to be doing anything. You were a person who did not have the requisite discipline, maturity, and committment to maintain their body. Your body. The one thing that no matter what happens to you, you have to rely on to get by with.
Its your first and last line, and everything in between is because your body is there, willing, and able.
I would say you are a very different person from two years ago.
and speaking from experience...
I used to be a total nerd, shit, still am. look how often I post on TA before women never talked to me because of it. Still dont. Why? Same reason? I thought so. Until a girl got drunk enough to tell me I scare the shit out of her.
Then 4 months later another girl did the same thing. Said she was afraid of me. ME. The skinny shit from highschool!
Guys scare women on some level. One thing ive had to work on like crazy is becoming UBER NICE to girls, and having to show that a gentle side exists. Hard work for an A-hole hehe. So anyways. Thats my take on all this stuff.
