When you see your female friends get hit on by 2 guys that are well over 35, and incredibly high, AT THE SAME TIME, you tend to get hostile.

I never really found the bouncers to be that rude by the way...imagine a club full of people....overpacked even...that's what 2,500 people in the main room they gotta keep the place secured.

You never found the bouncers to be that rude? You consider bouncers screaming, swearing, and getting right in the face of their patrons polite? Again, I question if you've ever been to Guv before, or are just plain lying to make the place sound better.

And the searching....well yeah obviously they search for stuff...there were enough shootings and stabbings in clubs i'd rather be safe than sorry...

Yea, cause in order to find a gun or a knife, you need to put your thumbs down my pants, and move your way across my whole wasteline. Sorry dude, but that's just not needed.

Does anyone else see how ridiculous this guy is sounding? Why are you defending Guv so much? Most of your arguments are half truths or just plain lies.

I've been there many times and never seen high 35 year old men hitting on any female friends of mine. And if there is hitting - on going on then it's just your tyipical guys that exist in ANY club so stop bitching any club there's a chance you'll be picked up in.

No the bouncers were never rude to me and I never had any problems with them. The only one time i've heard of the bouncers being asses is when a buddy of mine decided to jump over the bar counter to get some water - so he deserved to be thrown out...other than that I've never had any problems with the bouncers. Maybe it's becaus I don't have the initial attitude that they are assholes...if bouncers yell MOVE that means they are running somewhere to break up a fight or something...But once again I've never had any problems with any bouncers.

And yes you can hide a knife under your belt...

Look...bottom line is...nobody is twisting your arm...so do me a favour then and just don't go...I think it will leave a lil more space on the dancefloor and less negative attitude in the club...And you meanwhile can go to other places that you enjoy so much and we'll all be happy

Hey Jay...
I don't have a problem with whistles
I don't have a problem with glowsticks
I can handle seeing people cracked out.
But please tell me....Back in the day I truely can't remember a single party where it was so crowded that I couldn't move around and dance. The parties I remember were so well done that the floor would rise and fall like a foot at a time because people could dance. Anytime at the guv between the hours of like midnight to 4am, it's not possible there. And that is the BIGGEST problem most people have, and no one can deny that it should at least be attempted to be fixed, and people are just venting their frustrations about the lack of effort put forth by the management

I'm with you... sure, the guv may not be the perfect club out there. But i've been to much worse. I've seen much more aggressive, fucked up, men hitting on girls at other clubs. Searches are important because they dont want anyone gettin killed in their club (Violence or drug related). Its understandable...

And of the many times ive been there, i havent seen a bouncer drunk on power/being a jerk... sure, maybe at times, they get a lil carried away/pissed off (though i havent witnessed it im not sayin it doesnt happen), but considering just how packed/busy it does get in there, can understand their possible frustration with ppl.

I can think of many parties i went to that were crammed. I recall one involving Green Velvet for one. There were plenty over on Polson st (before it was the docks) that were rammed to the tits too. Industry was also routinely rammed and no one ever complained.

You know come to think of it, the rave companies back then used to make MORE money than clubs do now and they used to charge more as well but you never heard anyone cry about that either.

I think partiers have just developed this holier than thou, every thing must be perfect attitude which in fact is just a general reflection of what society has become as a whole since then.

Let's face it. Look around, we as a society act like spoiled little children.

I actually can't. Every party I went to always had space on the floor to move. None that were rammed from wall to wall. Industry was routinely packed but not to the extent in which the guv gets. Even the closing party with tenaglia wasn't as bad as I've seen the guv sometimes.

About the bouncers being rude... well look @ Boa during DT. The place was packed and yet with the exception of one little event the bouncers didn't need to manhandle or verbally abuse anyone. No one from what I could tell was pulling the "I'm going to lean here regardless" act and everyone had a good time.

Rude bouncers and all the rest are part of Guv's schtick (hard to spell it in english). It's just the BS that goes on there every week that makes it Guv and at the same time it's the reason you go back... Regardless of whatever anyone tells you, I know the Guv' regulars get a kick out of watching the bouncers!

But it would make it a lot more inviting if they would just politely tell you to move. And for weapons and such, that's why metal detectors exist.

Yeah but then we'll have threads like..."Guvernment sucks because i didn't get in..." or "Guvernment sucks cause they should let more people in...." or etc and etc...I've never been to Aria so I don't know how things go down there maybe Malek can enlighten us. But I just think we'll always have complainers....about something

I also have to add that Boa is new...they have A LOT TO LOSE by being unfriendly to their patrons...let's see them in 7 years...and if they are still all lovey dovey and friendly I hope they are but I honestly don't see that happening -- if they are still there in 7 years of course
