you obviously havent seen any recent freehanding then. we incorporate every kind of "rave" related dancing into our routines, this includes popping, liquid, breaking, tutting, waving, etc. in fact, freehand glowsticking is an off-shoot of liquid.
i totally understand the opinion you have tho. up until about a year and a half ago i thought exactly the same way you do because 98% of the glowstickers out there have no skills. it wasnt until i started seeing people with real skills that my opinion totally changed, and why i think glowstick dancing is the superior rave dance artform out today.
dont think my opinion is biased either. i was into breaking and liquid for 6+ years before i found freehanding and respect those forms of dancing completely. but in all honesty , no circles i have ever seen in my life command even 1/10th the amount of people who stop and stare when a REAL glowstick circle breaks out (not to mention ULTRA CIRCLES!!! ) hopefully we'll meet up at a party sometime and inspire you to start freehanding keep on dancing
