Well, yeah. I've got to be completely honest with you, I'm struggling to come up with any clubs - in Melbourne anyway - that dish out that trancey sound. Personally I prefer the housey/progressive sounds anyway, so it don't bother me that much, but it'd still be nice to find a place that can take me back to 1998 every once in a while.
But I agree with you with that r'n'b rubbish. My god I could go on for days about how much I hate that shite - and I know that people have different musical tastes, but how anyone could appreciate that kinda music is beyond me. And it's not just the music but the image as well - I mean, go into the r'n'b room of any club (most of them have one these days) and there's always the same type of people there: guys who think they're "da bomb", girls who think they're "da bomb" and the obligatory drunk guys who are just up there to pull..... not that I can blame them really.
But yeah the music's so soulless and middle of the road - and is there some sort of rule that says you must play 2Pac's California once every 15 minutes in every one of these places? Get over it you wannabes! Yeesh, these people piss me off. They don't give a shite about the music, they're just in it for the image. And is there any reason that 94.3% of the top 40 is r'n'b influenced? And that people don't believe me when I say that r'n'b is just pop music for people who think they're cool?
Bah.
Anyway, just needed a vent.

I want to here some of that style here at least, and trance! where is all the trance??, there is no atmosphere around hard house/hard nrg, its just angry .. listening to some of ferrys sets here at home has more emotion to it than going to any club around here, its just shit.
when will trance move in down here and be popular?
If anyone knows any good clubs which spin NEW trance, please tell me. |
Yeah i know what you mean. Trance is very hard to find here in Adelaide. There was a trance night that was run a few months ago but no one turned up so now there is no place in Adelaide you can go to listen to trance. Everything seems to be progressive house these days.
