i've been following this on the bbc website all day at work as well...38 dead! unbelievable to see these pics of london, whereas we are so used to seeing them from the non-western world.
crazy, how now all of a sudden it hits home for 'us' and that there is such huge media coverage immediately! what about the rest...?
i used to work near Russell Square in 2001 just before 9/11. just thinking back now, i remember that London was on high alert after the attacks b/c written material was found as proof that London's financial district would be next, indicating similar targets. but then the whole thing with anthrax started ... people in England were concerned about 'chemical warfare' and the 'invisible enemy' i.e. water contamination and such ... but then slowly, over time, life started getting back to 'normal'. it does not surprise me, however, b/c if you look back, these various terrorists attacks throughout the world have always happened after some years have passed ... sort of like, letting the dust settle, until the next utterly shocking event. i guess it was 'time' for another warning...
oh the irony of it all ...
i, personally, am extremely shaken ... not knowing what to think anymore. at the end of the day, it's all a political game where it's always the innocent civillians who are the victims. it is so disgusting and sickening! unfortunately, the real power is in the hands of the few (one pathetic American pretzel-choking monkey-puppet whose shoulder is rubbed by the British yo-yo amongst some other spineless morons) and they dictate how our world revolves. we are merely the hamster in the wheel. ... i am deeply, deeply saddened and shocked. ... i guess human rights really only do exist in the form of lip-service and on paper ... and 'life' goes on as it always has since the beginning of time ...
RIP to those how lost their lives in this macabre game.
