I occassionally do this too but only when the floors are super sticky and every time I raise my foot it feels like I'm peeling off gum from the bottom of my shoe. I don't pour the whole bottle on the floor but just enough in a small circle where I'm dancing that I can move alot easier.

When throwing empty cups/bottles of water/beer ect. please return them to the bar as a common courtesy (especially if they are glass). Or if you must (this especially applies to water bottles) open the cap and step on the bottle. I dunno how many times I've nearly rolled flat on my ass because people leave the cap on and the air cant escape out. OR just throw it out in a garbage. THANKS!!

I understand where you're coming from but have u ever heard of a concept of "dance battles"?? well maybe not but in any case...they occur in a middle of a circle btwn like minded individuals (in this case ppl who want to BUST a move or show some innovative dance techniques) mostly towards the end of the night when the majority of 'club goers' have left the building so ppl that wanna battle others are doing bc there is space to do so....Learn to deal with it! or just don't comment on it cuz i can tell u it'll never change!

Dance battles are great and at the end of the night when there is room on the dance floor then I think it is great to watch. I watched one the other weekend at the Guv out on the patio...it was great. I have no problem with that sort of thing.

Its the group of friends that make a circle for themselves so that way they can all dance together and have lots of room while everyone else is all crushed together on the dance floor....it is just a matter of respect to all others dancing.

And once again you're ignoring the fact that if the club is that packed, you're not going to have any extra dancing space whether they make the circle or not.

You speak as though the circles are taking up half the dancefloor. In reality they only take up marginally more room than the individuals themselves would be taking up - the only difference is that the "circle" doesn't allow drunk and/or sketchy assclaps to pass through and invade everyone else's dancing space while they stumble around trying to find a quiet place to throw up.

I notice you didn't respond to the earlier post I wrote, which was in response to your original complaint - do you in fact have any justification for this, or is this just a case of sour grapes because you're not able to do the same thing (either because you don't dance or your friends don't)?

Actually, my beef in terms of the space-hogging is the friggin' congo lines. Just because there's 10 of you and you're all holding hands does not give you right-of-way over anybody else who might be trying to move. The worst part is that I usually see the same damn congo line moving back and forth 8 times in an hour. It's like they never actually stop to dance, they just keep wandering around aimlessly all night.

But really, this thread was supposed to be about etiquette, not pet peeves. A lot of these "rules" have nothing whatsoever to do with politeness - they are things that are really perfectly acceptable to do but some people just happen to be bothered by it. (Requesting tunes from the DJ with a big sign, however, is just plain rude)
