Maybe it's just a close coincidence. Plus the way it's getting promoted. Thats my feeling. Anyways. Like I said. A bunch of the empty parking lots that were available last year are no more, bunch of buildings are getting built on them.. so if you dont want to walk just get there early.

lets hope your right, nothing like a big crowd to get you going. fireworks and foam would rock too, and more than one laser pleaseeee!

Seriously. I think they thing hebind festivals is the hype and the appearance, not the music for most. Since most only play for less than an hour, its the fans, the lasers (more than one or its shit) the foam and fireworks that does it. Since many complain about relocating the event, make up for it so people want it to stay there. Go all out appearance wise. Take GG out of Miami!!!!

The reviews from GG seem to be pretty positive, which would worry me a bit if I worked for UMF.

If they had any common sense, there had to have been people from UMF at Global Gathering to size up the competition and see what they were competing against. It may be too late to make a lot of changes, but the folks at Ultra would be idiotic not to try and "one-up" the GG festival with an all-around more enjoyable experience than GG.

If this Saturday comes and it's not as impressive as GG, then it may signal the beginning of the end for UMF if these two events continue to compete against each other. I hope (for my sake and for UMF's sake) that this isn't the case.

A little over three days left.......hope you UMF organizers are bringing it extra-large this year!

uhh are you guys smoking crack?

what the hell are you talking about

please keep the corny foam and amusement rides away.. im sure ultra wont be doing any of that corny shit. Ultra is not a carnival it is an electronic festival. Your carnival is prodigy on stage, if you cant dig that then you shouldnt be going to ultra. If you want foam go to college parties. If you want carnival rides go to six flags. If you want djs throwing parties in tents with fans that love edm music, go to ultra. Ultra is a madhouse circus as it is, we dont need any of that extra shit.. lights, music and people!

Lud, i disagree. We are talking about Ultra, not a club event. Ultra brings many who arnt truly techno fans per say but go for the fun of the festival. That is why its an all age event. The clubs are a different story, that is for the music, the dj, etc. If you look around the world, what does creamfields do, amsterdamn do, japan, brazil... etc? they go all out with activities and massive light shows. I know you are going for the music, as i am, but analyzing in depth, you target the younger age group, the ones that cone go to the club gigs, and those who want to simply have fun at a massive outdoor fest. Even rock concerts like ozzfest, they have a village. Ultra better have had people at GG to take note. Outbeat GG by taking what people say was awesome and different such as the Foam and fireworks.

Not to get too off topic on the certain issue that is being discussed as of this moment but, out of how many of you are bringing some sort of filming device to ultra? I cant decide if I should or not, considering there may be consequences for my actions but were they this strict on the issue of restricting any digital cameras or any devices similar to this event?

Im just saying the vibe adds to the music. Its true. You do go for the music, but the vibe adds to it. I could see the performers in clubs, but outdoors is different, you expect a show as well. I dunno, thats my take and i think a target GG had in mind for a reason.

the overall vibe is what makes the conceert most enjoyable. GG went for the jugular on their first year in miami. ultras gotta put up a amazing show to remain the top festival down here. im pretty sure GG tried to replicate their festivals in europe, which consits of alot more than just stages and food/drink stands from what ive seen. theyve got everything from rides, to people drawing/sculpting and just people dancing around. i guess its just a diffrent feel. please ultra, blow me away.. it may very well be my last ultra before i turn 21 if im not impressed. otherwise, i think ill be at space for MMC next year
