there are festivals like WEMF, omnidance, teknival, eclipse and others that although are expensive have music both fruning the day and at night. tho again it is a totally different atmosphere.

For people who lead 9-5 jobs, and don't work a retail or a bar/restaurant job and have to keep day hours M-F, staying up til 4am on a Friday night for the headliner to come on is near impossible without drugs since you've already been up since 6am Friday morning.

exactly - in fact i find it almost impossible to party on friday night, as i am so pooped from work.

e.g. im really excited about US10 as the DJ i want to see, Rank 1 is not headlining, meaning that he'll be on from 12/1-2/3 and i can then go home and get some rest.

i like partying, but if the party doesnt start untill 4, then its hard to justify sleeping ALL of sunday, my weekend.

If you're paying attention, you surely realize that he's not referring to shortening party time, but rather offering it at other times as well.

edit: and if TO wants this, get some promoters to throw a daytime party.

This is getting off topic - we should move the discussion of really late set times to like a separate poll thread. I'm kind curious about the results. I can't imagine too many people like being out till 8am.

But see, I usually work till 9 or 10. So starting a party at lets say 6 or 7 just wouldnt work out for me.. and im sure for alot of other people either.

And why is it okay for you and not okay for him? Both personal choices. You sound really hypocritical when you say "I take E, but I don't want you taking it". And being a hypocrite when it comes to drugs will only have the negative effect of them wanting to try it more.

I'll agree with you on the fact that people who brag about doing drugs and being crackheads (MoralHazard & co) are really really lame and immature. Keep it to yourself, it's really nothing to be proud of.

I agree with what you say but my post had nothing to do with me not wanting my brother to do what i did rather, it was just an example of how our words can turn into the actions of others. Lets face it, most of us if not all got into the seen based on what someone else told us.

I've gone all night many many times, and I dunno, maybe I'm just getting older, or maybe the scene is changing. Last two years I've seen headliners playing, on average, later and later. As for the music festivals, I still don't understand your comment. EDM in Europe for example, where its a considerably bigger scene than it is here, happens at all day festivals all the time. For the most part, you're absolutely right, it will stay where it is for now.

Bro, i never said i was against EDM happening during the day. Infact, the experience I had in MTL at Piknic Elektronik was one of the best i've had (Sunday party, outdoors, in a park starting at noon). My point (if i was trying to make one) is that if you want to see a big headliner in Toronto, suck it up, take a nap before you go out, and expect it to be bright and sunny when you leave. Nightclubs are the ones shelling out the $$$$ to bring these dj's in, so they tell us when the dj plays. This has become 'the norm' in the industry, and I honestly dont see it changing, ever.
