Would you consider self-defense from foreign enemies who want to exterminate your race as preservation of life? |
I'd hardly call dropping bombs on a country over a handfull of POW's preservation of life.
The topic though, reminds me of a documentary filmed in the past year or two, of an Israeli woman about our age, who could no longer attend college because it had closed down due to the war, violence, bombings et cetera.
Every few weeks her and a bunch of other Israeli college/grad school aged men and women organized a get together/dinner at her house in which young Palestinian men and women attended, as well as whomever else wanted to. They all chilled together despite the conflict going on around them and despite the fact that they were from opposing sides. They came together, regardless, on the common grounds that they all wanted the war to be over so they could go back to school and get on with their lives.
^^^ what a cwaaazy notion

i was just in israel not even a month ago, and something really has to be said for their spirit and outlook on life... EVERYWHERE you go, i'm talking every mall and restaurant, there are security guards at the door waiting to search your things and rub a metal detector over you, and it simply is because that is the way things HAVE to be...
this is just one instance of the intense amounts of security and compromises the israelis have to accept in order to have a chance of living through the end of the day. the positive spirit in which i speak is simply the fact that this all is accepted as a part of the norm, and doesn't stop anyone from doing anything really... before i got to tel aviv i half exptected the mood to be quite tense and worrysome, but upon arriving i saw this was nowhere near the case. tel aviv is probablly the chillest major city i have ever been in, with some of the most interesting looking people. the same goes for jerusalem... where you hear even more about buses blowing up left and right. the israelis just want to live their lives like anyone else, and they have been getting walked all over for far too long. its not such a bad thing they flex their muscle a bit, and i pray as many of the Lebanese as possible find appropriate shelter.

Where in my post was I referencing America's tactics in the war? As far as Im concerned the US approach to this war is a complete joke. If youre not gonna commit to war, than dont bother, but instead they decided to pussyfoot around Iraq and get troops killed.
The big guy in this war is America thats what i am saying.
As far as not letting the Turks in there, well I think thats all American pride, they want Iraq all to themselves - fuckin idiots that they are. Remember what happened to Germany after WWII? Well I dont think the US wants that happening with Iraq because of all the oil. |
Looking for oil?
First Turks want to destroy all Kurdish terorists which come from North Iraq.
Second America deals with Kurdish terorists who help them in Iraq.
As a result America doesnt want to see any Turk soldires in North Iraq.
Turkey doesn't need oil. they have the most important oil sources that you can't imagine.
If i were you i wouldnt make any comments in this issue.
First read news then TALK.
