1 question i've seen some people taking pictures with some of the performers how do you guys do that ? do you talk to the manager or something ?! |
takes luck, good/great pics, more luck, determination, begging, being ultra nice to security, never being in the way, NEVER NEVER touch a live turntable, an expensive looking (or actual) camera, talking to managers, artists, promoters, owners, bouncers, ...
don't aim too big either.. big artists have a lot of people trying to impress them.. thus you'll most likely be lost in the noise..
try to avoid the front door.. if you have the choice between sending pics to "[email protected]" (the front door) or __armin's personal e-mail address goes here__, use the latter one. You'll more likely be reaching someone more directly involved with the artistic process.. best shot here is to get the managers or agent's card while at the event. Best to swap cards if possible. And follow up relatively quickly.. Within a week for sure.
ooh, and don't even think about getting paid.. unless you're working for a magazine or something already and they send you to the show.. At best, if you're lucky, you'll earn enough respect to get on the comp list for future shows.. and make more contacts there.. repeat until tired!
Good luck,
Pete
