Yes, I do. My only point is that I think Jason has become part of the problem as opposed to part of the solution. Threads like these pop up every so often with someone claiming c0r has gotten "out of hand" or has reached an all time high level of "shittiness," but never actually discuss the specific things that are bothering them.
Allow me to elucidate (pun intended ) on an actual situation that has occurred in c0r regarding the quality of posts/moderator action that has drawn my personal ire, though I understand comletely why it's happened, and realize that it's my problem, and not that of c0r as a whole.
I used to come here for two reasons: 1. To break up the monotony of the week with some humor. 2. To have a good laugh and be able to enjoy some time (albeit internet time) with Myra, as we don't get to see each other 5 days a week.
We used to be able to waste entire days flirting on here, irritating all of you to the point of tears with our incessant internet canoodling. Furthermore, we used to be able to have a good laugh about TA, and things in c0r. Then, she became a moderator, and a lot changed.
Gone were the majority of fleeting and foolish but funny posts we used to make with each other, and in comes Myra as a moderator. It was clear almost immediately that her persona on the forums had changed, and honestly, who wouldn't have expected it? We have come to expect a certain level of action/personality from our moderators that requires them to become somewhat removed from the main lifeforce of c0r, so it was certain that Myra would also have to move to "that level" in order to moderate effectively
Here's the problem; the lot of you (And believe me when I say on occasion that I am without doubt a part of "the lot of you") end up pissing her off so frequently it seems very apparent that c0r is rarely any fun for her anymore. The amount of bullshit she has to moderate is staggering, and the fact of the matter is that for the most part, she does it on her own. When things slide to the level they have on here, how can a single moderator be expected to keep a handle on it all? It's absolutely absurd, but she deals with it well - And you all are very lucky for it. She's the best thing that's happened to this forum in a long time, but she can't do it all on her own.
So here's the conflict - subjectively, the dynamic of c0r has changed for me, and some of what I really, really valued in it is now gone. Is it my fault? No. Is it Myra's fault? No. Is it c0r's fault? A resounding no. At the end of the day, though, I'm the only one who can do anything about it for myself.
Things change, this forum has gotten bigger, and just because a lot of newer members (And some OLD members) sense of humor doesn't jive with me isn't going to change the way things work around here. I've made suggestions, but realize they most often times fall on deaf ears, and at the end of the day this isn't my website. It's up to the moderators of this forum and the owner of TA to do something if they want to illicit real change, otherwise, with a forum this large I'm afraid that we're all going to have to deal with the kind of rubbish that apparently a lot of us are sick of.
So if I'm the one who's sick of the way things have gone, then I'm the one who needs to step away. And perhaps I will - But in the end, it's my decision to do something, and not my expectation that c0r will get better solely by complaints backed up by a completely lack of objectivity or evidence.
In the end, I like Jason, always have and always will. But as a moderator (which he still is, even if he wants to be gone), if he has a problem with the way things are going here, he needs to spearhead real change - And it's been proven time and time again that threads like these get no where. I hope any and all of this made sense.
