Defense is hardly the problem. We're actually playing really good defense. It's our offense that's non-existent. Our guys have no rhythm or confidence. Their shot selection is poor, and the thing that got us to the play offs last year (Ball movement) seems to have been scrapped from the play book altogether.

I think Bargnani needs to take a seat as a starter for a while. He's nowhere near ready. Rasho should be our starting centre. Bosh is slowing picking his offensive game up but if we're gonna win, he's gonna have to put up much better numbers. 20/8 just isn't enough.

As for Kapono and Parker...these 2 have been the most disappointing players for us thus far. Parker is a non-factor in the game, whether it's on offense or defense. Kapono chucks the ball the moment it gets in his hands and misses (leading 3pter?? ).

I don't know about that....they've both hit some big shots. Kapono in particular. Both of their games are based off of spacing and ball movement....the two things that the Raptors aren't doing. I think these guys have done ok for themselves given the bad desicions of others. Bosh is trying to force way too much and the Raps are trying to force too much on him. Bargnani would be better if they got the guy the ball more. T.J. isn't playing too well....he's keeping the ball in his hands for far too long each possesion. The list goes on.....

Jose has even been playing pretty shitty this year as well.

I disagree about Ford. He's the only one that has brought it all 5 games this season. I think the fact that he holds on to the ball too long should be attributed to the rest of the teams poor positioning.

As for Parker. He hasn't made a 3 pointer since New Jersey. Last game he didn't even attempt a 3 pointer and only had one made field goal out of 6. Previous games have been slightly better. This coming from a guy that has given us 10+ points all season last year and could be counted on in crunch time to make the play.

Kapono is only a bit better but whenever we were close to getting over that hump and producing a run, he would jack up a stupid shot with 15 seconds left on the shot clock.

Jose had played alright, but not as good as he can.

That's why I'm not really crying about it. Yea I'm pissed off with our amateur play, but its only 5 games in. If we still playing like this in December/January then I better see some heads rolling.

Rasho in, Bargnani out.

I think this will be a nice move for them. Take some pressure off of Bosh down low and create some more space for Kapono and Parker.

I don't know what games you were watching where the Raps have been playing good defence?
The first 2 games of the season, maybe
against boston tho, altho it was a great game they were down by 10 for the first 3 quarters
then milwaukee
then orlando

milwaukee shot something like 65%+ in the first half
and Orlando was a high percentage as well

the raps in all games were shooting 40-45% range
45% is a decent percentage, altho not 4 the raps tho who are a high scoring team (or should be atleast)

also, kapono is playing good so far
http://www.nba.com/raptors/stats/
his 3point percentage is 57%, good enough for number 1 on the team
yes he might have missed a clutch shot, but who else would shoot that three?

i agree about Bargs goin down
and from rumours I heard Rasho is now going to start instead of Bargs

should be interesting

yea, there was an article in the star this morning that talked about how sam mitchell made public that he is switching up the starting lineups and how it has nothing to do with the way bargnani has been playing yada yada yada.

Yes they have been playing "good" defense. Not amazing defense a'la San Antonio or Detroit but they've managed to make some key stops and force contested shots. Unfortunately, especially in Milwaukee's case, the opposition could've been blindfolded and they would've still made the shots. Everything was going in. Plus, a lot of points came off transition baskets which I attribute to laziness, and not poor defense.

The defense was good enough to give us a chance at winning, if only our offense was there.

As for Kapono. He's hardly impressed me. It's not just 1 clutch shot, but it's throughout the whole game. It's not solely his fault though. I'm sure if he was given wide open looks more often (thanks to better ball movement) he'd start putting up better numbers.

lol, I don't know where you're getting this....

the guy is a shooter....one of the best in the league for that matter.

his job and roll on this team is to shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot. he's hit big shots that have started runs for raps so I can't see where you are coming from when you say the timing of his shots is off. he's only going to avg 10-12 points a game....maybe you were expecting the guy to put up like 16 a game and are dissapointed? he's there to spread the floor and give the offense another dimension....not pour the points in every game.

I have an itching that there is going to be a trade within the first 15 games of this season

the raps bench is way 2 deep when it comes to 3 point shooters/guys who can drop 10pts a game

maybe a bit early...but I'd expect something to happen early-ish too.

I'd love to see Dixon and Graham packaged off for a serviceable PF...and then pick up Luke Jackson again, lol. I thought he had talent...just never got the chance to do anything here.
