You were expecting a concise summary of the past 9 pages, maybe?

So I'm looking for a pair of active speakers for my bedroom DJ setup, though I would like to be able to travel with them for house parties/small crowds. Are the Behringer Truth 2031A speakers still a good choice? Has anything come out since then that would be better and/or cheaper?

If it matters, I spin mostly house and techno.

It's got an 8 in sub so I could use it for small parties too.

Reviews I've read online are mostly positive.

Jesus I want to know your friend!!!!!

They are considered by many to be one of the "most bang for your buck" monitors out there. I own a pair, along with the B2092A sub, and I always suggest matching them up with a sub if you're going to use them for DJing - the monitors alone are nearfield, designed for production and will sound a bit flat if you're using them for houseparties.

I bought mine used for $250 CDN for the pair (and nabbed the sub on sale for $235!), have had them for over two years and would recommend them to anyone.

Anyone used the numark npm5? I have a receiver and very large speakers for parties, if I ever do them in the future. Just looking for a cheap pair of speakers to practice mixing with in my bedroom. For the price seems like a good deal. I've only read good reviews online. It's either these or I use my computer speakers.

I have the V6 Series 2 monitors and yes they are not being produced anymore you're right. If you get a good deal on these I say take them by all means because they are one of the better 'entry-level' monitors that KRK has come out with.

This is prolly going to sound silly but anyway.

I want to learn to use the one-cup bmatching technique since my normal twocup method ain't viable in loud clubby situations. Now I was wondering if proper monitors would be necessary to overcome some first-try problems I experience (I'm using these creative gigaworks t20 pc speakers atm just to try this technique):

When I'm pitchriding I can hear the point where the tracks are playing in time but it takes too long before I hear the songs drifting apart. There's like this zone where I don't notice the drift on the speakers while if I switch to in headphone mixing at that moment I would clearly here the drifting way way earlier. Is this due to the pc speakers or is this due to the fact that I can't turn my speakers louder than "speaking volume" since we have nasty thin walls. Would it be worth to use a monitor in this case to hear the drifting more clearly and rapidly or has the, as people say, the more flat sound produced monitors nothing to do with this?
