Except its a lot easier to gain weight than it is to lose it. There is no such thing as 'hard gainers'. It's simply a matter of intaking enough calories.

You say you eat bad food, but probably don't eat enough of it. Try a diet of 3500-4000 cals and then tell me you're not gonna gain weight.

Anything is possible so there's nothing to be unhappy about, its simply a matter of how badly you want it.

I think that Armin is the fast food of electronic music. Consistently mediocre, inexplicably addictive to a certain small group of people, and carrying almost no nutritional value whatsoever. And you generally need a lot of drinks to wash it down.

Seriously, I can't help but wonder where some people get the idea that dancing once a week at a nightclub is good exercise, especially knowing how some of those people dance. Not talking about you personally, I haven't seen you, I'm just speaking generally. And I'm not even talking about skill, you can be totally spastic and still burn calories, but waving your hands in the air and bending your knees a few times != exercise.

Mental activity can also burn calories. I'm not saying fat people don't think, just that the whole equation is pretty complex when you get right down to it.

By boyfriend is one of those dooods that works out once a week. lucky for him, he already has a nice bod.

wanna talk about "hard gainers"? talk to MikeyN

he's been doing 3500-4000 AT LEAST on daily basis for about a month or more now, he lost 2 pounds last time he weighted himself

kinda wish I could share some wobbly bits with him *sigh*

solution is simple:

tell mikey to start drinking more beer -- like a lot more!!! its not difficult, nor hard to consume an extra 5-6 beers a day im sure he could easily work those into the day it'll work like a charm, plus you get to be drunk (if you so chose to consume them all in the same period back to back) and consume all that delicious, glorious, wonderful beer thoughout the day! thats how i cultivated my beer belly. and look how healthy she's doing these days!

haha but he wants to gain weight generally everywhere, not just the belly he's been carefully watching the calorie intake, and supplements the diet with protein shakes too

Some people are surprised to learn that it can be equally difficult for some with fast metabolisms to gain weight as it is for others with slower metabolisms to lose it.

I also would love to put a few on, although for me it requires a very strict routine of eating/strength training and much more discipline than I can muster at this time in my life.

*patiently waiting for my metabolism to naturally slow down*

Yeah, in the same boat as Mikey probably. Although another problem is that it seems impossible for me to eat that much food every day. I simply eat to the point where I am not hungry anymore. Eating past that point becomes laborious, and to me, defeats the enjoyment of the food. Even if I somehow got 4000 calories into me in one day, the experience would be far from enjoyable, and the results of the feat marginable.

Side note: I've never counted my calories (partly because I've always considered it a suitable activity for overweight, middle-aged women), so I don't actually know how many I eat in a day, but 4000 seems like a lot. I dunno what the average number of calories that people consume is - I'm probably very close to the average, maybe just under it.
