I recommend the Macdougal street ale house, it's across from Off the Wagon and they sell cans of PBR there

yup! The Ale House is great. That was my spot throughout high school and college. I freaking love the place. I haven't gotten one in awhile, but they used to sell very cheap pitchers of beer there. Can't go wrong with the PBR though.
