Aya, I believe you're referring to the NovaDreamer. Check out The Lucidity Institute, they sell it there. My friend bought one used, and I've tried it. It's uncomfortable if you sleep on your side, and I hate sleeping on my back for long periods of time, so I didn't have much luck with it. You can change the sensitivity and all that... basically all it does is detect when your eyes are in REM and then flashes red lights at you to signal you. Pretty neat actually... It was $150 last I checked though, so pretty costly.

One neat thing I've done is conjure up, say, a beautiful woman. Afterwards, I'm not even sure what she looks like... all that mattered at the time was that I was convinced she was beautiful. Wonder if I could conjure up a perfect trance track without it actually being anything... that would be way cool :-)

After filing through this thread it's intereting to note how people go about, discover, interpolate/remember dreams...and how different everyone is on "dreaming".

All in all I was kind of like "what do you mean this is the first time this has happened" and "why do you need techniques to have these types of dreams".

I've had these dreams as long as I remember, and I easily remember my dreams...and can continue them where I left of the previous night, week, or month ago. Wake up sweating sometimes, scared sh*tless, or good that I accomplished "some goal". And I have never needed technique, or pre-meditative measures to get into these dreams.

Lucid they are called, eh? Interesting.

one time i smoked so much that i was actually high for over 48 hours. it was an awful experience because i really wanted to get un-high after about 12 hours because i thought it was permanent, but yes i had this 'lucid dreaming' experience for both nights.

Would be interesting if you could dream up a song, I'd be interested and not very surprised to hear an artist got inspiration from a dream he had because I've made up melodies while I've been asleep.

I was taught to do this by a friend of mine who used to work at a therapeutic lounge. They specialized in body massage and dream therapy for anti-depressing states of mind. Interestings stuff. Although it's not suggested, you could add some weed smoking to the mix and make things trippier.

Impressive, PhloTron... I've also had them for as long as I can remember, but I no longer have them as often (maybe 1/week now).

Much of it has to do with one's waking awareness. A person who is rarely *aware* of his surroundings while awake will almost never have his wits about him in a dream. I'd say an accomplished lucid dreamer has more mental awareness and clarity while asleep than most mere mortals do while awake

That's why I think it's a neat thing to bring up in a forum dedicated to "trance" music... a style that, at least in its origins, is devoted to altered states of consciousness.

Definitely man. We are the spiritually 133t (or aspiring to be anyway).

Grammatically elite too, it seems . I was more than a little surprised to notice that the last few posts are impeccably written... a feature I don't commonly ascribe to online forums.

Anyway, I was discussing this with a friend the other day. She's very into musicals and the like... that is, music for entertainment. I, probably like many of you, feel that trance is more an extension of my personality than mere entertainment. I wish more people could understand that.

It almost brings tears to my eyes to find that others feel the same way. Rock on. Er... trance on.

OMFG, guys, guys, i had 2 lucid dreams last nite... both lasted about 2 seconds (dream time) and i didn't really control them, BUT I WAS AWARE THAT I WAS DREAMIN! honestly, it was such a shock!


especially the second one, i was in an FPS game and my character was running forward with a rifle and i kept thinking "i'm dreaming, i'm dreaming, what do i do, what do i do, i must make someone appear..."


rofl, and i made a tank appear out of nowhere

finally! a clear awareness state in 1.5 years!

i'm OMFG`ed!!!!! i'm gonna go read about this more.

Luckily i subscribed to it, this has been my first visit back to TA for awhile... i forgot the wonders of trance.


Anyways, i havnt been practicing, so this thread has also reminded to to start trying again, i've been having some very vivid and realistic dreams lately

Unfortunatly when ever I figure out I'm dreaming, I end up waking up soon after
