i think you would pretty much have to see all of them. Episodes 4,5 & 6. and yes even Episode 1.

I dont think you would be doing Episode 2 justice if hadnt seen some of the originals.

But if you were going to take a Star Wars movie to a desert island, presuming the desert island had a TV and a VCR it would have to be Episode 5 The Empire Strikes Back.

Theres only one scene with the Emperor in Episode 5 but hey, nothings perfect.

i found it really crap good action scenes but the acting was absolutely atrocious Anakin was crap only gud thing really was natalie portman mmmmmm in that white suit at the end!!! but overall fouind it really boring and it only got into the story near the end and if you havent seen the others then you would be confused, one thing i dont get is how anakin was acting like a wanker towards the senator or whatever and then she still loved him after he streated her like shite?
overall crap in my opinion bestones are 4 and 5

EP1 was ok for me.. I'm not a kid anymore who can
be easily wowed by the hype, CG, and soso plot lines. The intensity of drama, and impact of the story and character development was not there for me. I didn't come out of the theatre breathless. That's what I want from a movie of this calibre, and I didn't get it.

I won't be surprised if EP2 is the same as the first. All I see is slick looking film with no substance.. It's going to be a yawner for me. LOL

Well it's going to be like that because George Lucas is taking the most important highlights from the Star Wars saga if you really want a in depth back ground of the characters read the books (there are alot of books too) here's how big the timeline in Star Wars is.

definitely, I should re-read the books. I loved it for the epic fantasy. I recall (I can't remember the title) the last book I read was about the mastermind behind Black Sun who pretty much owned Coruscant. I remembering Luke opened a can of whoop=ass on him when he came to save Leia near the end.

Thanks for the link.

Great stuff.

After reading the timeline, I found out all it is, is Jedis going from good to the dark side of the force, repeated all over again. By using different scenarios and characters.

Watch the empire strikes back again and you will see that you sadly mistaken... its too bad these prequals are turning out the way they are.. i mean.. come on! Hes had like 20 years to think of good dialogue... the new movies just kinda look like a half assed attempt..

well i saw the movie last night and i have to say that i quite liked the movie (it had it's better parts and ...)

but i must say i think that the middle part was the best, the ending is too massive imo.. a little bit less and it would have done the movie good!

and the special effects, come on! why does every scene use so much specials, i mean the scenes which were "real" were like much more better to look at.. and the final war-scene not even the stormtroopers were real! it looked like a sw final fantasy thingy..

but the acting was quite good actually, but what i missed about the film is HUMOR! where's the guy with the good oneliners ("cough it up fuzball!!" brilliant).. okay some of the lines of obi-wan where quite funny ("good job!") and c3p0 was quite cool! but i miss han character!

and for the peeps who didn't figure this out: palapatine used the armies (both of them) so that he would get emergency powers! so the war is actually a diversion!

quote:
Yeah, an Obi-wan / Anakin climax on epispode 3 would be sweet.

we know this is gonna happen don't we: the battle between darth and obi-wan in ep 4 says it all!

*edit* worst sentence in the whole movie: "ow ani you will always be the little boy i knew back at tatooine" i laughed my pants of, what did i say, no humor ..
