Assuming he's being serious, perhaps he's just had one too many experiences with the DJ who really does just uninspiredly trods along from one record the next, but anyone who harbors this position is either unaware or deliberately ignorant as to what a quality DJ is able to construct.
That's the type of uninformed viewpoint I would expect from someone whose knowledge of DJ'ing barely goes past knowing what 'DJ' even stands for, much less someone 'on fire in the scene.'
...and what a weird viewpoint it is. 'All DJ's are dicks.' 'With all due respect, I hope they just disappear.' 'I'm not going to diss all DJ's.' Maybe he was drunk, but as nefardec mentioned in the Clockwork thread, he really ought to hire someone to do his press for him.
I'd like to see him say him direct that nonsense to someone like Grandmaster Flash.
As for Tommy Lee, I once asked Deadmau5 in chat if he felt he was a good DJ, and his response was 'I'm not a critic, why don't you ask him.' Which is a smart response, as if he were to say anything negative, it would be this whole inflated drama about how 'Oh, Deadmau5 said Tommy Lee sucks, and bla, bla, bla.' But if he felt he was a good DJ, he probably would have just said so, as there's no negative press in saying that.

I think that deadmau5 has this really awesome schtick of being a bitter loner kid and being negative to his peers is a cool part of it!!
