Sure, and what I meant is that those genres I mentioned, among others, give you some more room to go beyond what I'd call the "Fantastic Jukebox Performance" (i.e. nice tracks beatmatched, one after the other). The reason why I even edited the genres out is because not all trance DJs are human jukeboxes, and not all techno/d'n'b DJs are ace.

Everyone likes someone that someone else isn't a fan of. Most of his fan base I assume is in Toronto/Ontario with a stream of fans in the states and then word of mouth into Europe. His stuff is cheese/crap/samesamesamesame and a good chunk of it is just someone elses work turned mau5'd ( which makes him sort of a hypocrite ). He did increase the Toronto music scene over a short period of time, though. He has a lot of hype because he did a lot in a short period of time, which is good for him, but he didn't do anything remotely special aside from take some songs that people loved and added some bleep bleeps to it to get there. He was recognized by big names and they helped him out so when your name is beside a name people recognize...you get recognized and it escalates from there.

i don't think anyone is trying to outsmart his marketing strategy

they just want to say publicly how much they think he is an ass and/or untalented

...and of course everything written in a tabloid is true... Anyone who takes offense to what was written, I'll send them a subscription to the weekly world news or national enquirer.
