I park in the pink expectant mothers spots all the time when the parking lot at Home Depot is almost full. It's a man's store FFS.

I park in them all the time....same with the Environmentally Friendly Vehicle parking at Loblaws.

I once had a pregnant lady bitch me out for taking her spot.

Pretty keen...

What happened was he was writing the ticket, I got in and drove off. He tried to tap on the glass with his pen as I was going into gear. He didn't attach the ticket (didn't have time, I was in and out like 2 minutes like I said)

Hey btw, you're sure about what you mentioned above? I'm definitely doing that.

Yes! There's your out dude! Better of you had someone who can vouch for that... he did get your plate and he finished it up electronically, so it got registered, and that's why you got it mailed.

Just go to court, and tell him like I said. The parking enforcement officers can be real pricks, but the guy also has taken an oath... he knows he can't lie in court, and just like any self-respecting individual, they will say what happened from their point of view. He enjoys his well paying job, he doesn't want to lose it. So at worst he'll likely say he can't remember, and in that case, you may get the benefit of the doubt.

I'm going to refer you to this link; http://www.fightthemetermaid.com/Defences.htm#6

If I drive away before the ticket is placed on my car, is it valid?

No. By signing the bottom of the ticket, the issuing officer is declaring that not only does he believe that you committed the infraction, but it certifies that you have been served in a proper fashion. This means either on your person or by placing it on a conspicuous place on your car. By driving away he is unable to serve you properly and therefore the ticket is invalid.

Good luck.

and for the doubters... if that page does not seal the deal, see http://www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/html/sta...p33_e.htm#BK19

quote:
Service on owner

(4) The issuing provincial offences officer may serve the parking infraction notice on the owner of the vehicle identified in the notice,

(a) by affixing it to the vehicle in a conspicuous place at the time of the alleged infraction; or

(b) by delivering it personally to the person having care and control of the vehicle at the time of the alleged infraction.

i will rather park on the lawn than take a handicap spot. i was just basing it on the fine you pay when you park at a fire hydrant. i thought they were the same.

get places earlier so the regular spots aren't taken?

is has never crossed my mind to ever park in a handicap spot. i don't even feel jealous that the spots are primo spots.

the people are handicapped, let them have there spots. imagine like those spots don't even exist.

the one where you can't park on the street overnight, even residential streets. now in the wintertime i understand, snow removal, but come one, in the middle of the summer??? blatend 30 dollar money grab. what if somebody went to a house party, the driveway was full and they to park on the street? now what if that same guy had a bit too much to drink and had to crash overnight, the guy is going to get slammed with a 30 dollar fee. some parking tickets i agree with fire route, blocking someone's driveway ect, ect. but damn this particular bylaw has cheated me out of about 500 bones.

ps i am that guy from the story

those spots are usually reserved for people that live on those streets but don't have driveways (the city doesn't like people ripping up green space to make your self a driveway). Or for taking away garbage at night or for rush hour traffic in the morning.

these are not stupid tickets.

if you are in a residential area, you can purchase a permit to park online for 15 dollars and it's good for a week.

I got the one you're talking about the next day because my mom moved my car from the driveway onto to the street in the morning at 6am and i was sleeping, when i got ready for work at 10am the ticket was on the windshield for parking longer than 3h and that's beside my house.

There's also a ticket for parking too far from the curb, i think its 5cm

The overnight parking are fucking stupid, it limits social life, you can't even visit friends/family past a certain hour.

It's made on purpose to keep the neighbourhood quite. In Quebec city and some suburbs they have those even when everyone has a garage or streets with plenty of parking spaces.

nooooo its not a money grab.
