Maybe less local guys on the line up next time? Not having a go or anything but you think you would get the international to play for as long as possible.

Not directed at you Joey but I am so sick of seeing all these parties in melbourne with SOO many DJ's rammed onto the line up playing one hour sets, with half of the sets being verses. Gone are the days when DJ's used to get at least 90 mins - 2 hours each

yea your right bee, i agree, with this event had a big responce for ppl to play and wanted to get as many djs get their chance. with the main room yea i didnt relize up until the end norman wanted to play alittle longer so i screwed up on that behalf, and i didnt want to tell a dj listen we had to take you off the lineup, aint far and not right...

yea not many djs get 90 mins to play usually an hours now, hopefully with the next one we can fix that up thanks for that bee

No worries, was just me having a rant :P Wasn't meaning to point you out in particular because EVERYONE does it. But yes, you have the power to change things he he he

You have done well with the line up in any case, nice to see some NEW fresh faces mixed in and been given a chance!

X2!!! i guess cos the internationals we get only come once or twice a year, everyone is too eager to get soooo many in on the 1 event.... but i've always had the opinion of having less internationals so that the ones that do play, have the space to create a journey.... the essence of a trance dj i feel.... to get the croud to feel what the DJ wants them to feel, so for that, it takes time and the art.... its the way I've always seen DJing as the way it should be... ya just cant achieve that when you only get a hour or so. i know i cant talk since i've never played out, but its the way I've always seen it to be.

gonna b a killer party!!!

THIS TIME JOEY POKE ME IN THE ARM AND SAY "MARK!!! finaly get to meet you!" lol

Doesn't matter that you haven't played out - you are a punter as well, and would be nice for the dancefloor to get to experience the 'journey' of a set too. Not just limited to the internationals either, would be great to see what some of the local boys would do with longer sets!

It's only really been in the last few years that this emergence of lets overload the line up with as many DJ's as possible, it used to be a max of about 4 DJ's in per night.

One hour sets are just POO. Too quick. Combined with different DJ's all playing varied sounds and promoters putting people together for verses sets who styles CLEARLY don't match just to fit more people on. Urgh.

/end of my old timer rant (should have started a new thread rather than bombed yours joey - sorry!! ha ha)

haha ile bring my frying pan mark instead of poking you ile smash you on the head :P

hehe nah its actually an interesting topic i think an hour for ahalf for a dj is the min time they should get its enoguh time to progress your set theres some parties that got djs playing 45 min, thats ridiculous imo me personally i love a blend of all genres and like to fuse them together an hr and half would be perfect to blend my mix of prog, vocal and techy trance with an huor its not that easy, very very good point you guys bring this up
