Even moreso, they have achieved far more through the bedroom than directly through political maneuvering. Increasing birth-rates for Catholics and their disposition towards supporting agendas of a North Ireland Republic ensure that their numbers will eclipse any opposition, especially through democratic means.
This is why I posit that guns are a dangerous albeit inferior form of ascertaining consumer resources - things such as sex-wars are far more effective at consuming opposing ideologies. The frustrated will of a minority to exact decimation upon people is a dehumanizing threat insofar as it poses dangerously rapid consequence in lieu of our relative frailty; to destroy a person rather than their ideas is not only base - it is ineffective when considering the superorganism that society represents. It brings about change, sure, but rarely - if ever - in the favour of those who would so readily use them. We are animals scarcely capable of properly governing ourselves, much less responsible to the point of adequately harnessing the illusion of control we build to feel safer behind a set of crosshairs.
