A combination of braving the elements and gearing up for a big night made the crowd especially exuberant. The bad weather deterred the masses so although it was full it wasn't rammed. Lots of random shenanigans, entertaining stories and high spirits. Tunes were classic Porterhouse - an infectious combination of bumping and funky. Really appreciated the extra 1/2 hr he did, he doesn't like long sets but you could tell that he was still having a blast.
p.s. On the side topic of dj interaction, I'm a huge fan of it. If the dj is subdued it doesn't take away from the quality of the music but it certainly does add to the overall atmosphere if they're playing great tunes and having fun doing so. However no amount of dj antics will make up for a poor quality set.

IMO....if you need the DJ to entertain you with their antics then maybe you are listening to the wrong music for you.
I never said i needed to be entertained by the dj..i said i like it when a dj is connected to a dance floor and interacts with the crowd..it's an energy thing for me....i don't look at dj's as nameless, faceless music players..like a jukebox....certain dj's have immense personalities that come out when they are behind the decks....
thanks for letting me know that i've been listening to the wrong type of music for almost two decades......like i said..different strokes for different folks..there's no right or wrong...
