Thanks for the positive outlook. I JUST started Ableton...uh...five hours ago?
I've already fooled around with some beats, though and have a nice base-sound I like, but I can't seem to separate other sonds into different spaces (so the sounds will come in at different times).

You have to move them to the different time frame in the playlist.
I mess around with Cubase and started out with Fruity Loops, i would recommend FL since you are just starting out. Its WAY more user friendly. You can stick with Abelton but you are going to have A LOT more fun nights like you are having right now LOL
