Sure there will be nights when there will be little issues, but I wouldn't say the Guv system sucks or it makes your ears bleed.

lol are we speaking 2 different languages?
who cares how sound travels - I want to come into a club and hear the music, not bass rattling in my ears

I think that on the night's it's off (ya... horrible grammar) is when they over-crank the volume causing your ears to bleed. The sound-system on those nights don't sound top-notch whatsoever (is that word safe?).

I validate my earlier point lol

You can't just place speakers anywhere in a big room and expect it to sound good. Proper placement is in order (for proper sound) Just as proper placement of yourself.

Why do you think all the zombies stay in the middle of the dance floor, that's where you feel the true sound from the main speakers.

I rarely stand right in front of the stage. I usually stand in the supposed "sweet spots". The last 3 times I've been to Guv (with the exception of Family Day which was marginally better at some points of the night), all I could hear were distorted bass lines.

Clearly, you don't know anything about sound. It's obvious that you have never heard a good sound system (Boa, Fabric, Stereo) in your entire life if you think the Guv's sound system is one of the best.

Just because the sound guy is your buddy, doesn't mean the sound at the Guv is good.

The sound system at the Guv is a disgrace IMO, and is long due for an serious upgrade (re: replacement).

Toronto is a city where the club owners spend all the money on decor, very little on sound.

Montreal, on the other hand, virtually every club has a great sound system.

I'm still passing judgment on Cobra's soundsystem. First time I went, ouch, but I hear they've tuned it.

Whenever Tenaglia or Calderone or someone big plays at CiRCA, the sound is awesome. (They obviously tune and tweak it before the big guys play).

Yes, and most of the time people complain about the sound because they don't want to stand around the middle where the sound is the best but the crowd sucks (because its too crowded) so they have to migrate to areas where the sound doesn't travel the best. (i.e. especially right in the front behind the 2 front speakers lol) make sense?

Oz, are you on crack? "proper placement of myself"?! wtf?! the sound system is supposed to work in such way that wherever I go, I should get the same good sound! I shouldn't be forced to roam around a huge packed room to get a better sound!

*wishes FW would start having trance nights so I would stop raping my ears at Guv*

Well you will never get that perfection. There is a reason for the 'dancefloor' If I'm there for the music I find the best spot where the sound quality is the best.
