I haven't read the whole thread because I shouldn't be procrastinating, but whats the big fucking deal??? If you don't care about the event, don't click on the link. They are not spamming, they are making threads in an otherwise dead forum about real events that are happening and people go to. Just because you don't go, doesn't mean no one goes. This is the Florida forum, not the PatMcGroin forum so fuck off |
I totally agree with this. I mean damn, the whole scene is pretty much dead in Central Florida. I'm honored to be working with fellow EDMer's to try and change that. Miami is Miami and there will always be good events going on down there. The "scene" doesn't exist online, or in forums, it exists in the actual events taking place in the night club scene. Bullshitting back and forth with your friends on this forum about your laundry or your girlfriend's cat, is not the scene. In my opinion these events with massive out of the country, international rockstar like dj's isn't the scene either. It never was when I was coming up in EDM at it's inception in this country in New York in the early 90's. I went every weekend to N.A.S.A. at the Vinyl and it was always about the music and the party's vibe thats's why people went. Not, because this guy was playing or that guy, it didn't matter because the music was always good, and variety is the spice of life.
Let people promote what they want when they want, thats the whole purpose of this forum, to spread the scene. Yes, obey the forum rules, and yes don't spam. However, a promoter posting their events and bumping them or responding with more info isn't spam. The 176 messages in my email from Persian wife finder and penis enlargement is spam. Posting the same thing over and over again is spam. Pumping EDM events is not spam.
I don't think promoters want there events buried in so much info thats hard to stick out amongst the sea of events. You should support them in this, because they are the ones bringing the scene to you. With out promoter there is no scene, sorry thats just the facts.
Let's fucking party and spread the love, what happened to the music being the focus and not the politics. Let's leave the name calling aside, I have already been through this nonsense on other forums. Remember it's supposed to be about the tunes exclusively, not socializing, not shit-talking, and not complaining. I have never even seen the board before a few days ago, and didn't know it existed. But, I have been reading some of this arguing about the most petty, silly things I have ever seen. Everybody's event is important, and should be supported by all of us, not just events you and your friends are throwing or only giving an event priority if Tiestfag or Paul van Sack is playing.
To me it's pretty simple, when you see the thread title if you don't like what you see don't click on it. If you live in Miami don't worry about what Tampa's got going on unless your going to come to Tampa. If you see a Tampa thread for a Tampa party, ignore it. Not all of us think these producer turned dj's are any good anyway, they are like the Britney Spears of EDM, over comercialized, and been there done that soooo many times. It's really different strokes for different folks, isn't it. So, I have read all the posts and I know you guys here at TA are all friends and you have your little clique and all, so I of course expect a shit load of backlash over this post, although there certainly shouldn't be because there is no name calling or inflammatory comments. I know you guys have your little BBQ's where you all know each other and socialize together. Don't be so close minded to what others are doing, that certainly doesn't jive with PLUR, does it? I respect the good in all people do, it's the only way to be. Instead of sitting at home at your computer with your ring dings and orange soda complaining about EDM events, why not go to one. One that has local talent who aren't your friends, or one that isn't featuring Plastikman or Marco Corola.

This is an EDM community Not a promoting website. Though promoting is allowed but tolerated to a certain point. This site has brought people together from all over near & far. If you've seen in past years there was a time when there was nothing but parties whether it was an event or a private party that the TA's would make plans to meet & greet other TA's. The Florida TA's are & will always be a great group of people to hang out with. Why would you join a website to promote on it & not want to meet any members on a personal level that you would expect to go to your partes you are promoting?
Instead of people from Central Florida coming in here & arguing or commenting.... They should have been supporting their own area scene by posting in those said central florida threads. Don't you think if that would happen the events would not get buried?
Instead we have new members which is great but also we have other members who are coming out of the woodworks to reply in a thread that could have been avoided if you guys would've posted in those threads. Since none of you did the promoter bumped his own thread 5 times plus. If you guys are defending your scene & the local talent.... Why wouldn't you post in those threads? Im just curious to know.
What does the TA BBQ's have to do with anything that is going on? A few people have mentioned this already & I'm wondering why?
Nobody is being closed minded & I'm not gonna give you a backlash but I did reply to your post. Unfortunately I can't let promoters promote what they want when they want & thats not the whole purpose of this forum. This isn't 8up.com or any of those other sites who mainly use the site for promoting. I've talked to people who are members that don't post in here at times or at all because the forum is full of nothing but event threads.
It's a matter of following rules & guidelines & less spamming.
