I did research monkey brains. I've been researching both the Virus and Nord for several years, among the Mopho, tetra and Blofeld. So please shove it.
I could see how it would appear that way as the thread was titled for another synth, but the Virus I would have prefered more anyway, and because of that I actually did more research in general on the Virus.

So years of research and you never bothered to check how to hook them up to your computer? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

You change your fucking tune with every post Robbie.. You're the one that came in here saying that the virus was better than every other soft synth.. then and only then did Richie call you up.

Were you around when people were making entire tunes out of fl studios 3osc? It's because they know how to program a synth.. You complaining that soft synths are inadequate "after 6 years of producing" is making excuses for poor synth programming knowledge.

And yes, I own a virus before you ask, and yes it has its own characteristics, but its not miles ahead of every other soft synth on the planet you dumb shit. If you really believe that you are deluded

Christ.. I feel dumber for having to speak to you sometimes

PS. If you can't program synths in software, you just wasted a fuck load of money son. LOL

Yeh because if you go do some research yourself, you'll see nearly all the write ups on Nord actually leave that detail out, and focus more on the specs of the synth and what sounds its good for.

Seriously, go do some research yourself and you'll find it a very common trend. The fact you had to point it out only shows you most likely have not researched yourself and realized that trend.

Quote exactly when I "changed my tune" right now you lying piece of shit.
Richie V is the one who changed his tune are you blind AND stupid? Softsynths are inadequate for the level of sound I aspire to, maybe not you, but thats personal preference. If you enjoy working with softsynths, have a happy fucking life.
I on the other hand can see the benefits of a classic set of decidated circuitry. If you wanna sit here and play that socialist hippy shit "all synths are created equal", please go waste someone elses time. I'm obviously not naive enough to buy into it..

I can't really hold too strong of an opinion here because its only my second synth to own, but I can tell you right now I will never, ever sell it. I think the Virus sound doesn't get the credit it deserves. It sounds amazing through my Yamaha HS80M's blazing at peak volume. F'ing bass rattling my chest....mmmmmm....

Yeah, most things sound good at peak volume. My opinion's limited, since I'm just going off playing friend's synths and in stores and stuff, don't even know the OS number, but that was my impression from everything I heard. I don't think the presets are practically useful, but they're very dynamic because of the three little macro knobs which are well utilised by the preset creators. This gives the impression that its a lot more hands on and dynamic than it actually is.

Maybe software doesn't sound like a virus, quite frankly I'm happy with that, I don't think the virus sounds good, I like massive better. That's not denial, its personal taste.

PS I was going to say more, but I don't even know what this thread's about anymore

It doesn't need to be written, it's something you find out yourself. When I decided to buy my Dyns, do you think I looked at all the options for audio interfaces and made sure I had the right cabling and that everything could theoretically work before I even confirmed my order? Of course I did.

Same thing applies here. Logic would dictate that you have everything planned out before buying something.

Well forgive me if the first synth I bought had a direct usb connection so I assumed anything digital would have been the same. I did not read a single thing in all the write ups I read to even imagine it would have been an issue that Id research independently.

So great, either A) you're smarter then me or B) you have more experience, either way I'm glad it came up last minute because I wanted the virus more anyway. What matters the most in the end anyway is my music, not whether I'm an expert programmer, or how my synths connect to my computer, or EVEN how smart I am.

What always matters in the end is just the music.

I'd actually argue that the Snow was a good choice for him.

Whilst you can get the same or similar results with other synths, there are some glaring disadvantages when compared to a TI. For example, Sylenth1 sounds great, but the interface is clunky, the FX are gash, and the modulation section is lacking. Likewise, Massive sounds great, but it absolutely thrashes your CPU into oblivion. Personally, I find the TI to be easy to program, and it sounds great, but without putting a load on my CPU....for that reason it's my 'go to' synth.

I don't see any problem with spending $1000 or whatever on a synth, even if you're just a bedroom producer. I've come to the realisation that I'll probably never be a pro producer, but the money I spent on my Snow has been totally worth it because of the enjoyment I get from just fucking around making shit tunes with it. If you can afford to, why not?

Seriously though, DJ Robby Rox, do you notice the pattern in threads you create, or are you completely oblivious to it? I'm curious. At what point are you going to switch from "it's them" to "perhaps it's me"?
