Wow thats insane.
My review, I'll keep it short. I went for Act I friday night, got in around 3:30am and for the first time I walk in, and the seating where the vending machines are empty.. not a single person hanging around. I'm wondering, fuck did everyone buy their ticket for saturday and its dead tonight? Walk up the stairs to some sweet sounding classic house, and EVERYONE was on the dance floor. There were a few random people at the bar, but the seating on the balconies were empty, EVERYONE was throwing down on the dance floor.
It was perfect, friday night was much cooler then last night, so it was just perfect to dance to. I love the new lowered DJ booth, the dark red velvet curtains are awesome.. I also like how they took down the speaker stack in the back middle and made it horizontal.
Once again, great crowd... it was a little backwards from my normal experiences at Stereo.. Usually the later on in the night, the more and more topless guys show up. Friday night, the dance floor was just perfect, enough room to dance for everyone, and a lot of topless guys.. but around 6, the whole crowd was straight as an arrow. Lots of beautiful women, I actually got molested by a hot indian chick high as fuck on E, at first I thought she wanted to steal my sunglasses but she had her hand in my pants, grinding on me like a fucking hip hop video. I met and talked to so many friendly people.
The music.. holy shit. I now understand the hype with DT. I didn't think it was physically possible to transition from throbbing techno to classic house seemlessly, not once in the night did I think to myself "Nah you can't do that." He went back and forth from style to style, untraditionally.. he was all over the place and it still sounded incredible.
Around 9am, he slowed down quite a bit, at one point he must have been at 120bpm, playing deep lush tracks... I always wanted to wind down the night like that, but it makes it harder to dance when it's that slow. I left at 10am, there was maybe 50-60 people left on the dance floor, my calves were hard as a rock and I couldn't anymore.
All in all, best night I've had at Stereo. DT is a god.
