The point that i'm making, is that I think that the majority of coffee that is being consumed (at least for me) is at work or at school, or while traveling and need a coffee (on the highway etc) and you just need a coffee.
Sometimes you need a coffee, sometimes you want a coffee. Each has it's own place...
Not everyone has the luxury of having a nice cafe by their work, or have a fancy as coffee maker there. Same with school. So if you are one of those people that NEED coffee, Tim Hortons will have to do because of it's accessibility and such.
Now if I am out, or with friends, and we're going for a coffee, sure we're going to choose a place where we can get a "coffee", because at that time we want a coffee, to enjoy, to converse over, so we will go to a cafe or nice coffee shop, or to someone's house who knows how to make coffee and has a nice coffee machine etc...
I don't even have a coffee machine at my house, or drink coffee outside of work or driving long distances really. Just the occasional one while out.
I drink tea most the time, Indian household so we rock the homemade chai with fresh spices all the time

I disagree... Tim Hortons is so successful because they produce a bland coffee that while few who actually enjoy the taste of coffee will like most people can tolerate. IMO, the vast majority of coffee drinkers don't actually like coffee... they like hot, creamy, sweet, caffine. |
Not everyone does it like that, anything more than a single cream or one sugar is disgusting in my opinion. Factory workers here get Four By Fours (4x4), then have it reheated.. UGH disgusting!
