Seems that Paul uses the term 'rework' more since 'reworking' Victor Tsoi track. Another obvious example is Hans Zimmer – Time (Orkidea vs. Oakenfold Reworked Mix).
My impression is that
-édits can add more layers/add more instruments/change BPM into the existing version to make a track fit better into a mix
-rework might mean treating a track like a new track by putting whole new instrumentation/arrangement composition onto a track.
Remix on the other hand, probably would not specify such detail as sometimes it can mean drastic change to the track and sometimes can be a DJ putting his own syle of beats on a track (For example recent Benny Benassi remixes, Oakenfold's 2006 remix of Jamaster track) or even extended version of a track (probably this kind is less as the term 'extended version' is used more often nowadays as observe from AvB artist album and Tiësto artist album).
As long as Paul continue to provide us with interesting sets, he will continue to make our day.

But what if I painted some lipstick on the 'Mona Lisa?' [even though it's been discovered it's probably a man!] or drew a beard on 'The Scream' [still stolen anyway isn't it?]

I could then sell the world stills of my work. Am I a genius or a bit lazy?

For example...when 'Astrix - Sex Style' was still unknown, Orkidea did an 'Orkidea edit' which is in his Radio Unity 18 show and he tells you what he did to my favourite part of the track! [below]

The reason it annoys me, is that most often there is just 1 mix of any given track that I listen to, and in my mind therefore, I credit the production to the remixer, not the artist. Which I know is wrong, but it's right to me!

And 'reworking' just muddles the matter further!!

Maybe that is what is going on. Oakey's trademark has always been breaking new tracks, First. And previously owning and playing the only copy of a track. Still is the case with many tracks I can think of.

Not in the digital age though, which is maybe what this achieves.

And maybe this is what is driving what seems to me, his renewed interest and passion in dj'ing and his sets since Christmas?

And the reason that Oakey plays Ronald van Gelderen - Sempher Fi is because it is basically ' Faithless - Salva Mea' which he CANED [And when I say 'Caned' in the UK a 'Caner' is someone who smokes a lot of weed regularly, or in this case Plays a tune very regularly! - or both!], whereas the remix you prefer sounds nothing like it! - [even though Davini is an artist Oakey has played and closed sets with]

The remix he chose is awesome, as is the original 'Salva Mea.'[remix! - it believe it's 'Sister Bliss'?]]
