This is why Marines are used as cannon fodder.

My brother visited Argentina a few weeks ago. He’s been living in Spain for a few years now.
Within the first week, he go sick, some kind of strong flu, even though climate isn’t that cold and he took care of himself.
Without a doubt he got sick because there are lots of new viruses in my country that can’t be found in 1st world countries.
The misery and famine lead us to a situation where, even though you have food, shelter and health care, most of others don’t, and therefore they get sick and spread the diseases all over the region.

What in the name of the almighty power of the flying fuck?!

  1. Spaniard goes to different country;
  2. He's exposed to viruses he had no immunity to;
  3. His brother decides it's time to get ready for the apocalypse.

Really!? Though Argentina was severely hit by a crisis a few years ago, we're talking about the 6th highest HDI in the Americas (they're #2 in South America).

Not to mention any other survival boards.

Yeah, you stay inside and wait for someone else hungrier than you to kick in your "locked doors" and kill you for whatever supplies you have, which is obviously ZERO because you spend all your money on pumas and EDM shows. If that doesn't happen You'll be dead in less than week with no water or you find some but it's not clean and you die from that. Or you'll leave the house to scavenge for food/water and you run into other people doing the same. Maybe you're in their "space/area" stealing their supplies and they kill you to protect their shit. Either way you die because the only skills you have is fading songs. You know nothing about taking care of yourself without clean water, and electricity.

I would have thought everyone that lived in cali would have some sort of preps/survival stuff considering the San Andreas fault. But nah, you probably got more important things to worry about like matching your shoes with your shirt.

It's a fantasy. In a first world country you'll never be trapped inside your house for more than a week at the maximum. Hurricane Katrina was the costliest natural disaster in US history and despite a notoriously poor relief effort, it lasted for seven days. Most people have enough tinned food in their house to last that long, not counting other food that will remain edible for a couple of days. Water is a potential problem but as long as you do the smart thing and fill your bath with water as soon as you know shit's on its way it unlikely to be lethal. An average house has plenty of implements of self-defence as effective as anything you've got in your bag.

Realistically, keeping tinned food and a weapon around and following disaster instructions like you should anyway will see you through any conventional natural disaster. You've spent a lot of money preparing for a fiction that will not happen to you.

Well fashion gets you girls and girls can get you babies, so I'd say the survival imperative is much stronger with bas.

It makes for quite an icebreaker.

Yeah, cause taking care of, and raising a baby is so easy. Completely fucking irrelevant.

Well if it's about the difficulty presented, raising a child and scraping by day to day in a crumbling wasteland of marauding mutant brigands and severe radioactivity are probably kind of comparable. But one gets you laid. \o/

Don't sweat it, Chris, we're just giving you shit for being some sort of uber-boyscout.
