New or not, I don't think something like this would sound too far out of place amongst what I've heard so far. Just luck of the draw, montana, Lews & sand leaper can pull sets from their respective genres out of their arses at anytime and make them sound good. I also note that Lews vetoed UK Funky but it got drawn out still. |
I vetoed it, but the veto only applies to the person who vetoes it. It wouldn't work if it got eliminated from the competition all together. It's just a way of rewarding people who have done the competition before and have had to suffer through a hard mix the chance to guarantee avoiding one genre they'd hate to do. I voted UK Funky because I had no damn clue the difference between it and UK Garage and I still don't
Also, while I did get an easy genre, I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you I haven't mixed a pure uplifting trance mix since I first started mixing, so it's been a long time. I've got it mostly lined up and will try to finish it up today or tomorrow, it's just so hard to stay pure uplifting for me. I want to keep throwing in other sub-genres of trance
