Finding cabs to venues for NYE is an absolute nightmare, but finding one, oh say at 9am going back shouldn't be so bad.

Ringing in the New Year
Metro is your designated driver for New Year's Eve.
December 31
To help you celebrate the New Year safely, all Metro bus and rail lines will provide free service on the night of New Year's Eve.
Specifically, no fare will be charged starting 9pm on Monday, December 31, 2012 until 2am on Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Regular fares are in effect at 2am on New Year's Day.
