I've noticed you don't seem to like J00F that much eh?

Actually, I've chosen to be "revelant" in threads regarding tech house, techno, deep house, melodic techno, etc. It's probably just that the only threads you participate in are related to trance, and
that all trance threads inevitably turn into J00F wankfests.
Take a number and get behind James Holden in the disown trance and profess your musical savy line. We will ask you where on the doll J00F touched you as soon as we can.

Actually, I like a lot of his stuff quite a bit. I'm just not about to change my avatar to a picture of him and cream my pants every time he releases something or says something "profound" about the "scene".

Just to change the subject slightly so we don't have yet another Srussell bashing derailment going on again, what would you guys consider this track as? McProg, or standard, traditional prog? I've been on the fence with this one for a while, but regardless of what it's considered, I'll still be loving it for a very long time.

yes that would be the kind of stuff Schulz would play in 2004, starts fine that is the bassline of the period problem is the pads that start around the middle of the song which don't really fit in an otherwise great club track.

imo, mcprog at his finest. and as Rodri sayed, the kind of stuff that schulz would play in 2004. btw the deep bassline with "happy" melodies are one of the characteristics of the mcprog played by schulz (2004)
edit: also, lovely track! even a mcprog hater will not get angry listening to this track

Although I'm no McProg hater, I started to dislike the track when those cheesy pads appeared.

I don't quite understand this post. Are you implying that J00F is a child molester?

I've been listening to "real prog" since the days of Northern Exposure and the early GU CDs (I would rank Sasha in Ibiza as my favorite mixcomp of all time). Still enjoy McProg on top of that.

Always enjoyed that and the Ozgur Can remix.

2004 hey - wasnt that the year tiesto played the olympics? goddam the olympic album sounded like some whacked out circus music!
2004 was were the decline in what people called trance really set in for me. had some good times during that year - consumed huge amounts of pills and did backflips to waveforce. avb was probably playing the best music he ever will (which was still pretty medicore imo).
all in all a popular year but not really a fantastic year.
