Ok... I'm not sure on this so don't flame me but I downloaded Oakenfold's essential mix at creamfields and I must say that I didn't like it as much as I like for example Ferry Corsten's sets, I personally think that there's not as much emotion in that set by oakey and the emotion is what I love about trance....

So I can't honestly look at a jump from trance to proggressive as evolving your taste, I think its more like following the stream since proggressive is played alot in the USA for example and has changed the clubbing scene there. Aren't you just following that stream because I guess you have many friends that are more into proggressive...

Don't wanna bash any1 but were would you stand if trance would be as big as it was in 98 or even bigger?

Cheers

Very true.

If you look back to 1997 then productionwise the UK was certainally the best place for quality trance although maybe not quite so much now as many of these producers are never heard of these days. Here's just a few of them, I'll just post their names because they had many aliases.

Ricky Simmonds & Stephen Jones
Chris Cowie
Ian Masterson
Nick Hale & Gez Dewar
Alex Whitcombe & Andy Cato
Marc Mitchell & Stuart King
Matt Darey
Red Jerry
Simon Berry
Nick Bracegirdle
Tom Janciewicz
Nigel Dawson
Rich Mowatt & Andy Bury

Some of the biggest names in trance productions of 5 years back. I know these names probably mean nothing to most people but they were behind projects like Qattara, Trouser Enthusiasts, Sunday Club, Heliotropic, Lost Tribe, Art Of Trance, The Space Brothers, Tomski etc. Look back on releases on labels like Xtravaganza and Platipus for quality trance productions from the UK.

No I wasn't influenced by anyone when I started to listen to progressive.
Hey, about the fact that u think ferry's sets are more emotional. I can completely understand, and that U don't like Oakey I understand too, but someday you will love it, well it depends on how u evolve in trance
You have a long way listening in front of u.
Just wanna say it's impossible for u to express your feelings on it if "u'r not yet been there", trust me one day u will understand
Just keep listening to what u like, other genres will follow....sooner or later

I just wanna say the UK ownz
I love the underground sound there, keep it this way!
RESPECT for the UK
btw armin is badazz and he does not play cheese

1) Quadran feat. Tasha - The Love I Lost (Progress Mix)
2) Fisher Project - I Get A Rush (Moogwai's Chab Remix)
3) Reysan Khan - Shi-Do 2000 (Voodi Remix)
4) Farfa Meets Pleasure Team - The Search (Sleepwalker Mix)
5) Bismark - Make A Dream
6) Revolt - No More Whitelines
7) Roland & Remy - Air Walkin' (Mark Shimmon & Bernie Hurst's Progressive Mix)
8) Norlander - The Prayer (Fatwa Mix)
9) G.D. feat Joanna Law - Forgiveness (Anima Dub Mix)
10) Silverblue - Do U Know
11) Yahel - Devotion (Gaia Mix)
12) Tillman & Ries - Bassfly (Moogwai Remix)
13) Tony Walker - Field Of Joy

Opinions, anyone?

ahhhhhhhhh Ferry Corstens Judgement Sunday CD
very deceptive
first time I heard Tony Walker - Field of Joy.....what a great CD
btw it's the original mix of devotion, there is no Gaia mix
