most discriminating guest DJs, and the most colorful refreshments. chiar Oscuro welcomes bartenders Melanie (from Alchemy @ the Cage/The
Fifth Column) and Jessica (the Depot) to the bartender's guild. They
will tempt you with Hard Core Cider, pitchers of draft beer, as well as chiar Oscuro 's very own thematic Smirnoff Ice specials. chiar
Oscuro will also feature a "Cigarette Muse," selling clove and specialty cigarettes throughout the night, as well as assorted confections. An inspiration to any aspiring artisan!
The premiere of Oscuro on Saturday, September 13 features vendors
including Pixie Fashions . Pixie Fashions focuses on unique
PVC hair accessories. Additional Oscuro vendors to be announced.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 19, 2003:ATTACK OF THE SCUMFROG
Dutch DJ, the Scumfrog, is well known for his brilliant remixes of Dirty Vegas' "Days Gone By" and Kylie Minogue's "Love at First Sight" - a Scott Henry favorite in 2002. Scumfrog's biggest fans include some of the world's most respected DJ's: Danny Tenaglia, Roger Sanchez and Pete Tong. As one of the Liberator brothers', Aaron, (like label-mates Chris and Julian) regularly play across the UK, Europe and beyond; however, they are still to be found playing at illegal parties in London most weekends. Aaron's style of music covers everything from underground techy house to hard techno, whilst keeping it funky and trippy with a freestyle attitude.

Since Cübik/Nation is closed for tonight due to the power outage, definitely be sure to check out dj mea at FIVE, 1214 18th St. NW in midtown DC. we’ve talked to tim sherman, the general manager, everything is fine. keepin’ friday nights in the buzz/m3/primacy family.
Mr. sherman knows that everyone has cabin fever, but doesn’t want anyone taking risks by going to unsafe areas underwater. FIVE is in an area of dc that is not flooded. there are no blocked streets due to flooding, and it was open last night, so they definitely have power.
