She wasn't really ever elected: She took power from the guy we did elect, and then pretty much drew with abbot... And the only reason she won is because her opposition is one of the stupidest people ever allowed to make it past childhood (abbot, just to clarify  )
I hate the Liberals, but could well have voted for them if it was nearly anyone except abbot- gillard is absolutely useless

Some Aus music really is pretty great 
especially in the electro nudisco kinda style: Cut copy, Presets (first album, before they gayed out), empire of the sun and pnau are all pretty good (or were once) imo
most good aussie acts go overseas though
